Hello dear friends!

For a very long time I have not written about boxes, although this is one of our favorite topics. Today I will share with you how to make vintage jewelry boxes out of cardboard boxes and other materials.

This is my mother's work, which she did for a long time, and the box is pleasing to the eye to this day. She uses it for storing threads.

The following materials were used to make the box:

· Cardboard box;

· PVA glue, hot glue;

· Newspapers;

· Napkins;

· Acrylic paints;

· Picture-print from the Internet;

· Acrylic lacquer.

Our box is for a computer mouse, but you can use almost any, for example, from shoes.

The production itself is very simple, you do not need to have great skills to make the same box at home.

Step 1.

We dilute PVA glue with water, a little (if it is very thick). We crumple the newspaper and start sticking it on the box. We glue the crumpled newspaper both inside and outside. We do not glue only on the lid of the box.

We glue it carefully so that no air bubbles remain, and so that the newspaper is well saturated with glue.

Leave to dry for 24 hours.

Step 2.

Cut strips 5 cm wide from napkins, put them on a wet towel and twist thick flagella. In details, I described how to twist the flagella here ->

Step 3.

We glue the still damp filaments on the box with PVA glue. We glue in all corners, making edging. Leave to dry for 8-12 hours.

Step 4.

The entire box, except for the lid, was painted with black acrylic paint and dried for about 30 minutes.

Using the dry brush method, we went over black with green and light green colors.

Step 5.

A picture was glued to the lid of the box, which was printed from the Internet.

Step 6.

Cut out 2 pieces of newspaper the size of a box lid, crumple one and glue them together in 2 layers.

We paint in the same way as we painted the box and leave it to dry.

Step 7.

Cut the glued pieces of newspaper, as shown in the photo. We glue it on the lid. We fold the paper and glue it with hot glue.

Step 8.

We glue the same flagella from napkins on the lid and paint them. We glue several decorative flowers.

Step 9.

We cover the box with acrylic varnish.

The box is ready, you can use it.
