Hello dear readers and guests of the channel!

Today I want to share with you my personal experience of creating flowerpots made of sand and cement for a garden or a summer residence. I made them last summer and specially left them for the winter in the open air in order to check how they will stand it. And I want to note that while they cope with a bang! Many times they were in the pouring rain, several times they were wrapped in snow and easily withstood light frosts, up to about -10 degrees.

In this article I will show you how I made 3 flowerpots of different shapes and sizes. And at the end of the article, we will calculate the cost of such flowerpots.

So what I used to create flowerpots:

· Various plastic pots as molds;

· Scotch tape;

· Sand (quarry or river), cement grade M400;

· Hand cream and / or vegetable oil;

· Cling film (optional);

· Weighting stones;

· 10 liter bottle, also used as a form;

· 3 liter jar;

· Knife.

My assistant was our dog Benya, who appeared several times in the frame.

Pot first.

For the first flowerpot, I used a plastic flower pot on a leg, bought on the market for 200 or 250 rubles, I don't remember exactly.

Step 1.

In the pot I taped all the holes with tape so that the solution would not flow out.

Step 2.

I poured 2 parts of sand and 1 part of cement into the basin, first stirred it dry. I added water and mixed thoroughly. The solution turned out to be quite liquid.

Step 3.

Lubricated the inside of the pot with hand cream. You can use any oil or petroleum jelly - it doesn't matter.

Step 4.

Another 1 pot, slightly smaller, wrapped with cling film.

Step 5.

I poured the solution into the plastic leg of the pot and tapped it to release the air bubbles. He poured the solution into the pot itself, about 2/3 and placed another pot in it, which he wrapped with cling film. I put stones to prevent the pot from floating and left to dry for 24 hours.

Step 6.

After 24 hours, he removed the parts of the flowerpot from the molds. You need to take it out very carefully, since the solution is still damp and not strong. And if you overexpose longer, then it is difficult to pull out.

While the pot is damp, I made holes for draining the water, at the bottom side. The hole was made with an old screwdriver. He left it to dry for another day.

Step 7.

I glued both parts of the flowerpot to the same solution.

Step 8.

I planted flowers. Here my dog helped me.

The first pot is ready.

Pot second.

For this flowerpot, I used 2 flower pots, one large and the second slightly smaller. Both pots were purchased for 200 rubles.

Step 1.

A large pot was greased with vegetable oil from the inside, and a smaller one from the outside.

Step 2.

The solution was made the same as in the first version. While mixing the solution, our dog successfully licked all the oil from the pot, we had to re-grease it.

I poured the solution into a 2/3 large pot, put 2 sticks on top of it, and placed the second pot inside. I put stones on top.

Step 3.

After 24 hours, he carefully removed the flowerpot from the mold. While raw, I made holes. He left it to dry for another day.

It turned out to be a large flowerpot.

Third flowerpot.

To make this flowerpot, I used a large plastic bottle of 10 liters.

Step 1.

I cut the bottle into 2 parts and greased them with vegetable oil from the inside.

Step 2.

Wrapped a 3 liter jar with cling film.

Step 3.

I made a solution, as for the first flowerpots, only thicker. I filled the upper part with a solution almost to the top, and the second a little more than half.

I poured water into a jar and placed it in the solution. I took out the jar, after about 4-5 hours, and then left it to dry.

Step 4.

After 24 hours, he removed the flowerpot from the plastic bottle.

Step 5.

I glued both parts with the same solution and planted a flower.

Done!

And now a few words from me.

Flowerpots are very cheap at cost. If you use plastic pots carefully, you can fill in more than a dozen flowerpots. A bag of cement costs 225 rubles per 50 kg, and sand is just over 400 rubles per ton. It takes no more than 25-30 rubles for 1 medium-sized flowerpot.

Here's an interesting and cost-effective home business idea without a big investment.

They stood in the garden all summer, autumn and part of winter. We were in the pouring rain, snow and frost. Not a single flowerpot cracked. I see no point in reinforcing, for my region. Our frosts are weak, not every winter it reaches -15.

I didn't paint, I like the natural color, but you can add pigment to the solution and the flowerpot will turn out to be any color you like.

Plants in such pots grow perfectly, the only thing is that in hot weather you need to water more often.
