I have not written about bottle vases for a long time. Today I will show you how a couple of years ago I made a simple, but externally interesting vase from a glass bottle and putty. The vase turned out to be very unusual.
To make a vase, I used:
· Glass bottle with a wide neck;
· Construction putty;
· Floristic grid;
· Hair dryer;
· Sandpaper, brushes;
· Acrylic paints;
· Acrylic lacquer;
· Putty knife.
Wide-necked wine bottle. Building putty for finishing walls and ceilings. I bought a floristic net in a flower shop, it is used to decorate bouquets.
Step 1.
I removed all labels from the bottle and washed well with detergent. I applied a white acrylic paint with a sponge - this will be a primer layer. Leave to dry for 2-3 hours.
Step 2.
I spread a little putty to a medium thickness so that it does not fall off the spatula.
Step 3.
I attached a piece of floral mesh to the bottle and put putty on top of it. I removed the mesh immediately after applying the putty.
I used a hair dryer to dry the putty a little so that it would not smear.
Then I applied the mesh further and applied the putty again. And so on throughout the bottle.
Where there are strong bends and it is inconvenient to apply the putty with a spatula, applied with a finger.
Step 4.
The neck of the bottle was covered with putty so that the thread was not visible. He left everything to dry for 12 hours.
Step 5.
After the putty dries, I lightly cleaned it with sandpaper.
Step 6.
I painted the whole vase first with black acrylic paint and dried it.
Then, using the dry brush method, I applied white paint and finally bronze.
Step 7.
I applied 2 layers of acrylic varnish to the vase.
The vase is ready.
The vase can be washed safely.
