Hello dear friends!

Surely, many of you have chairs or a chair at home that has lost its appearance due to old age and looks very scary. But, it is still quite strong and it is a pity to throw it out. So we had such a chair, which we restored hastily and it turned out to be quite a pretty chair that will serve for a while.

To update the chair, we used:

· Sandpaper, white spirit;

· Putty for wood;

· Acrylic paint, color scheme;

· Brushes, roller;

· Foam rubber;

· Leatherette;

· Furniture stapler;

· Acrylic lacquer;

· Polymer glue "Titan".

The chair itself is quite sturdy and hardly wobbly. It was assembled with screws, which we just tightened.

Step 1.

The whole tree was smoothed with sandpaper, removing the varnish, which in places peeled off.

We remove the seat.

Step 2.

Degreased the chair with white spirit.

Step 3.

The wood putty was putty on some cracks and chips and left to dry for 12 hours.

Then they sanded the dried putty with sandpaper.

Step 4.

A little brown color was added to the white acrylic paint.

We painted the chair 2 times with a sponge and a roller.

Step 5.

While the chair is drying, let's take care of the seat. On a 3-centimeter foam rubber, they attached plywood from the chair and outlined it with a marker. Cut out the foam rubber.

Important! Here we made a mistake, the foam rubber needs to be cut out with an allowance of a few centimeters so that it folds over the edges of the plywood and covers the ends. This way the upholstery will not rub against the plywood.

Step 6.

We applied the same plywood to the imitation leather and drew a contour with an allowance of 6 cm on all sides and cut it out.

Step 7.

We fixed the leatherette on plywood with a furniture stapler.

Step 8.

Covered the chair with acrylic varnish for 2 times.

Step 9.

Since we will no longer change the upholstery of the chair, the seat was simply glued to polymer glue and put the load for 12 hours.

The chair is ready, you can use it.

See how we gave a second life to different things:

The second life of the old Soviet lampshade

New life of a broken umbrella

The second life of an old frying pan

Thank you very much for your attention!
