Greetings to the Master Sergeich channel!
At one time, my wife became interested in drawing pictures by numbers. I bought these pictures for her, in the workshop they pulled them on a stretcher (as it is called), and she set to work.
The paintings turned out to be very interesting, but hanging them on the wall without a frame is somehow not a very good idea. Therefore, I decided to make simple frames from the ceiling plinth, which I bought in the construction market.
For the manufacture of frames I needed.
· Ceiling plinth (took with a different pattern and different widths);
· Miter box (this is a tool for sawing corners at 45 degrees);
· Hacksaw for metal, clerical knife, marker;
· Hot glue and PVA glue;
· Acrylic water-based paints;
· Stationery rubber bands;
Such a frame is made very simply and quickly. We had to wait longer for the paint to dry.
The miter box is sold in almost any hardware store.
It is impossible to paint the baseboard from a spray can or with enamels, since these paints corrode the foam.
Step 1.
Sawed off the first angle at 45 degrees using a miter box.
I attached the plinth to the picture and measured it so that its length was 5-7 mm less than the length of the picture.
Sawed off the second corner.
Step 2.
For the first part, I cut off the second, exactly the same.
Step 3.
I did the same with the other side, which is width.
Step 4.
I glued all the details into a frame with hot glue.
This is how it happened. The picture overlaps the frame, about 2-3 mm on each side.
Step 5.
I painted the frames with acrylics. 2 frames in bronze, and the third just in gray.
Step 6.
For fixing, I decided to try 2 methods. Attach to office supplies and simply glue the frame to the picture on PVA.
I made cuts in the foam at the corner of the frame.
I dipped an elastic band into the slot and filled it with hot glue.
We got such attachments, and the picture is very easy to insert.
The rest of the frames just glued to the picture with PVA glue.
These are the frames I ended up with.
And now a few words about the mount. Many on YouTube wrote that the rubber bands will dry out quickly and tear. Nothing of the kind, I have had the frame on these elastic bands for 1.5 years and everything is in order. If in doubt, you can use 2-3 elastic bands on each side.
With regard to gluing. These are simple paintings, not museum masterpieces, so I don't see anything wrong with simply gluing the frame to the painting.
You can paint the frames as you like, but I like the old bronze better.
