"Kolkhoz" Aquaprint at home without special equipment

  • Dec 17, 2020

Hello dear friends and guests of the channel!

I want to share with you my little experiment that I made a couple of years ago. This is a "collective farm" aquaprint, using conventional spray paints. And it is "collective farm" because it is not done at all according to technology without the use of any equipment.

In general, aquaprint is done using special equipment and chemicals, and not paint, but a special film is used. I will not go into details, if you are interested in this technology, then look on the Internet, it is full of information.

For the experiment I needed:

· Glass and plastic bottles;

· Remains of paints in spray cans;

· Nail polish remover;

· Rubber gloves;

· Big pelvis;

· Water.

In principle, with a little skill and a good selection of mixed colors, a very interesting result can be obtained. This is the first time I've done this, so don't judge strictly.

Step 1.

He degreased glass and plastic bottles with nail polish remover so that the paint adheres better to them.

Step 2.

First I decided to paint one of the bottles white from a spray can, the rest I left as is.

Step 3.

I poured cold water into a large 15 liter basin.

Step 4.

He sprayed paints of different colors onto the surface of the water and began to dip the bottles.

I dipped the bottles, scrolling a little so that the film of paint adhered to a large surface.

First, I painted half the bottle in this way and left it to dry. Then I painted the other half of the bottle.

Step 5.

The paint basin can be easily cleaned with a cloth dampened with nail polish remover or solvent.

So no need to write in the comments what ruined the basin and how to wash it!

Here is such an aquaprint I got the first time.

The effect is very interesting. The paint on the glass is kept quite securely, it is not always possible to rip off with a nail. But if you still cover the top with a transparent varnish from a spray can in 2-3 layers, it will be generally cool!

I mixed paints whose colors do not match very nicely, as I used leftovers. But if you choose colors that match well, you get very good results.
