Greetings, dear readers!
Today I will show you an awesome idea for a plate decor, which you can repeat with your own hands. This is a craquelure without special varnishes, but based on construction PVA and acrylic paint.
I will not dissemble and say that it is very simple, but also not as difficult as it might seem. The first time it may not work, or it will turn out a little different from ours. We did it the second time, and then it worked out all the time.
For decoration we used:
· Simple plate;
· Liquid for nail polish remover or (alcohol, solvent);
· Acrylic paints;
· Brushes;
· PVA construction glue (we use 801);
· Hair dryer;
· Acrylic lacquer;
· Decoupage napkin.
The process itself does not take much time, but you will have to wait a bit for the glue, paints and varnish to dry. During this time, you can do other things or relax.
Step 1.
Thoroughly degrease the plate with nail polish remover or other.
Step 2.
Apply acrylic paint to the plate. Any color can be, we have green. But, it should be different from the second coat of paint. There must be contrast. Leave the paint to dry for 1-2 hours.
Our first layer is green, the second will be white. Next, I'll show you why you need to take different colors.
Step 3.
Apply PVA glue in a thin layer in one direction. No need to wave your brush in all directions.
Dry the glue a little with a hairdryer so that a crust forms and so that your fingers do not stick to the glue. Dry warm NOT HOT, by air.
Step 4.
Now apply white acrylic paint with a sponge directly onto the dried glue.
And we begin to dry with a hairdryer at low speeds. First, with warm air, and as the paint grasps a little, you can turn on hot.
The paint will begin to crack almost immediately. The longer you hold the hair dryer, the thicker the cracks become, but up to a certain limit. Stop when the result suits you.
So, the first layer of green paint is now the color of the cracks. And white is the main color. This way you can play with colors and get different options.
Step 5.
We cover the plate with acrylic varnish, a soft brush and leave to dry for several hours.
Step 6.
We glue the decoupage napkin you like.
Step 7.
The edge of the plate was slightly tinted with acrylic paint.
Step 8.
And in the end, they were again covered with acrylic varnish for 2 times.
The result is such a funky decorative plate.
It can be washed.
