Some say it's all about additives to the water: that aspirin tablet or a spoonful of sugar to help maintain the freshness of buds. Others propose to limit the regular pruning of the stem. In particular, he examined what would happen if you put the roses in water with popular domestic "helpers" - soda, aspirin, vinegar solution of potassium permanganate. He also prepared a tank with a variety of drinks - tea, Coca-Cola, Fanta, Sprite and energy. Then he turned and alcohol: vodka, champagne. And for the skeptics who do not believe in the "old wives' advice, Maxim chose floral funds from various price categories. By the way, it was absolutely insane options, for example, to put a rose into the egg mixture. For the purity of the experiment, and it complied.
The experiment was performed 9 days, during which time most of the expected flowers wilted. The first to give up those plants that are placed in a potassium permanganate, butter and tea. They stood not, and 12 hours, which is, of course, very little.
Flowers in alcoholic beverages stood there a little longer. Plant response was unusual: the flower was fresh and wilted leaves from those that were in the vodka and champagne. These changes occurred about a day. The most devastating on a rose acted a solution of water and baking soda - the stem and leaves began to turn black quickly.
The longest in this experiment were kept flowers placed in the energy sector, Sprite and floristic means (in this case the value of their did not matter, at this stage all acted approximately equally). Rose in the water with aspirin by the fourth day did not survive the test and withered. Note that rose in ordinary water, which trimmed daily, also not distinguished durability. This method does not give very good results.
Finally, on the ninth day of sincere surprise experimenter with almost equal efficiency they have shown themselves floral means and... sprite! The most common drink was as gracious to flower as a special solution. Although this is not the most interesting.
Much better than all the other flowers, looked like the rose that was placed in ordinary water, but the amount of water in the vase veil slightly bud. The conclusion was clear: if you want to keep the freshness of flowers is really a long time, the flowers as long as possible to keep submerged. In this case, they will not lose their beauty even 9 days later.
