Modern kitchen design is a chance to design even a small room as the best example on the pages of fashion catalogs. And I'll show you how to achieve this.

Furniture selection

A set, and furniture in general, is the most important component of any kitchen. That is why one should approach his choice wisely.

When choosing furniture for the Art Nouveau style, rely on the following nuances:

1. An important distinguishing feature of such a decor is lightness, ease of use and functionality. The fundamentalism characteristic of the classic decor will be inappropriate here, the carelessness of shabby chic or country will also look silly;

1. Table and chairs choose a simple and concise form. No frills or "flashy" details. Believe it or not, stylish plastic chairs (I'm not talking about those that are installed on summer cafes or summer cottages) look surprisingly organic in such an interior;

1. Made from plastic, MDF or wood-effect kitchens in Art Nouveau style are ubiquitous. It is unimportant whether it will be snow-white or bright, the main thing is that it is multifunctional;

1. Particularly popular are hidden handles that allow you to open cabinets with a simple push on the door. I do not particularly approve of such a decision for two reasons. Firstly, this option will be quite expensive, and secondly, hidden handles can hardly be called practical, especially if the headset is equipped with glossy surfaces. You don't just want to do what to wipe the surface to a shine, do you?
2. You can add originality to the headset with frosted or transparent glass inserts. But just forget about any patterns or drawings - only straight, strict forms.

I would also like to write about the kitchen apron. To design it with your own hands, you can show all your imagination: make a design from glass or plastic. There are no special criteria for the color solution; an apron painted in the same tone as the tabletop, or in striking contrast with it, will look equally good.

Shape and finish

Another point that distinguishes the modern kitchen from others is the ability to boldly dispose of both smooth and curved shapes, and asymmetrical lines. • for flooring, use laminate, ceramic tiles or linoleum (all those materials whose price is acceptable for you).

Color spectrum

In this section I will move on to one of my favorite themes - interior colors.

To make your kitchen truly modern, use the following shades:

• ashen;
• gray-blue;
• light brown;
• gray-smoky.

Don't worry, even a modern white kitchen will in no way be boring and uninteresting.

Soft calm tones can be successfully diluted with bright accents:

• red;
• green;
• blue.

Use colors that are as close to natural as possible, so the interior will turn out as organic as possible. Having decorated curtains with them (blinds, Roman or roller blinds) or wallpaper, you should not stop there, add cheerful shades to the headsets.

Often in a similar design, two completely contrasting colors are used to decorate furniture, while the countertop is finished with a third shade. The effect of this decision is amazing.

But be extremely careful, otherwise you risk getting a "parrot coloring". Use proven color schemes or consult with experts.

Decor elements

As I wrote above, modernity does not tolerate an abundance of accessories. The decor does not act as an accent, but only as an appropriate and unobtrusive addition to the overall interior.

How can you decorate the kitchen?

For such purposes, the following are suitable:

• modern original clock;
• dishes with simple geometric shapes, but bright colors;
• beautiful frosted glass vases;
• dishes for fruits or vegetables.

Despite the fact that textiles are not particularly welcome in the modern interior, you still cannot do without it in the kitchen. Agree, it will be quite difficult to cook food without towels, potholders and other practical little things. But instead of a tablecloth, you can think of using special coaster napkins.
