1. Mulch

In addition to straw, foliage, hay, bark, sawdust, waste paper can act as mulch, which is used in different ways:
- Spread 3-4 layers of newspaper sheets around the bushes of crops, sprinkling each with settled water using a spray bottle.
- The paper is pre-cut or torn into small pieces that cover the beds.
Paper mulch cannot be called an ideal option, as there are problems with watering the soil covered with newspapers, and there are few useful elements in the waste paper. But in the absence of other mulching material, old newspapers can help.
2. Filler for warm beds
To ensure an early harvest of vegetable or green crops, a warm multi-layer ridge is equipped in the garden.
The effect of rapid heating of the soil is to overheat organic waste. These include tops, leaves, grass, leftover fruits, vegetables. It is recommended to use waste paper when forming the bottom layers of the bed.
3. Raw materials for compost
An excellent organic fertilizer - compost - is obtained from various materials, which are mainly divided into two groups:
- Green waste. These are organic residues that release a lot of nitrogen when overheated. These are stems, grass, food waste.
- "Brown" waste. These substances absorb nitrogen during processing. This group includes dried leaves, branches, bark.
To obtain high-quality compost, it is important to take substrates from both groups in equal proportions. The layers are alternated with the addition of manure, chicken droppings or a preparation that stimulates fermentation. Usually there is a shortage of "brown" materials in the garden. In such a situation, cardboard and various types of paper come in handy.
4. Row spacing
Even thick cardboard cannot be classified as a type of durable materials for arranging garden paths or garden aisles.
Waste paper is not used for paving, however, in periods of excessive soil moisture as a result of melting snow or frequent rains, sheets of cardboard are excellently helpful. They cover the tracks, and after that they simply remove the soaked material.
They also stack cardboard if a wheelbarrow with a load is required to be transported along a wet path. They cover the floor on the porch of the country house and on the veranda if you often have to go out into the garden. This helps to keep the floor clean.
5. The use of paper tubes for weaving
Lovers of needlework should use the weaving technique using paper tubes. This material is resilient and durable, and is also very cheap.
In addition to sheets of paper from magazines or newspapers, you will need glue and paint. They twist tight tubes, fix them with glue and weave not only traditional baskets, frames, but also beautiful sculptures and vases. Then they paint in the desired tone, apply painting or other decor, and varnish.
6. Decorative items, furniture
Multi-page thick magazines, telephone directories, outdated encyclopedias, unnecessary textbooks can serve as the basis for the manufacture of country furniture: bedside tables, ottomans, tables, benches.
You can make interior decorations from books in the form of decorative boxes, pots, compositions for watches.
