Azalea

Azalea is one of the most famous plants that blooms in winter. According to flower growers, it is not easy to care for.

In order to admire the incredibly beautiful flowers in the colder months, the azalea will have to be provided with good lighting, especially in October and November, when flower buds begin to form. But in summer, it does not tolerate direct sunlight and may die.

In addition, azalea is a very moisture-loving plant, but stagnant water is unacceptable for it. The plant is watered quite often by immersing the pot in a pan with water, periodically sprayed from a long distance (1-1.5 m). In this case, the water should be at room temperature and settled.

If the air in the apartment is too dry, especially during the heating season, it is humidified: containers with water are placed on the radiators. Twice a month they are fed with fertilizer that acidifies the soil.

The optimum temperature for a plant is 15-18 degrees (maximum - 20). At higher temperatures, flowering can simply not wait.

Brunfelsia

Brunfelsia small-flowered is common in home floriculture. This spectacular and fragrant plant is distinguished by its unpretentious care and the ability to grow in the interior for many years. Loves diffused light and regular watering, can be in shaded places for a long time. Brunfelsia does not tolerate prolonged drought and dry soil.

During active growth, in spring and summer, the crop is fed every two weeks with standard liquid fertilizer. Among other ornamental crops, it is distinguished by its ability to change the color of flowers from purple to light lilac, and then to white.

The plant prefers moist, cool air. In summer, the optimum temperature for him is 20-22 degrees, but with the arrival of autumn it is reduced to 10-15. In such conditions, the flower is kept for 2-3 months, then the temperature is gradually increased to 20 degrees.

Hippeastrum

Hippeastrum is a perennial bulbous plant with large flowers of various colors and shades, collected in inflorescences. The flowering period of this crop can be adjusted if necessary. As a result, the flowers will bloom on a specific day. After opening, each flower withers after 1.5 weeks.

Before planting, rounded bulbs are treated in a solution of "Fitosporin", after which they are planted in soil mixture prepared from coarse sand (perlite), humus, leaf and sod land (2:1:2:2). The bulbs are buried 2⁄3 of their height.

The plant needs:

  • bright light, but diffused;
  • air temperature - from 17 to 25;
  • during the active growing season, watering is required in small quantities, before flowering - plentiful, by immersing the flower pot in water;
  • average air humidity;
  • regular fertilizing with mineral fertilizers (2 times a month).

Zantedeschia

Zantedeschia, or indoor calla, is known to a wide range of gardeners. It cannot be confused with any other plants: strict elegant flowers of various shades against the background of bright glossy greenery. The abundance and duration of flowering largely depend on the quality of care for a capricious crop.

Calla is thermophilic, does not tolerate temperature fluctuations. In summer, she is comfortable at a temperature of 22-23 degrees and high humidity (85%). Calla loves abundant watering, spraying. Especially in summer, it should be watered at least once a day. The procedure is carried out with settled water at room temperature. In addition, the leaves should be washed periodically with warm water. With sufficient humidity, zantedeschia blooms especially large flowers.

In early autumn, the plant is put into a dormant state, lowering the air temperature to 10-12 degrees and reducing irrigation. In the first half of November, the temperature is raised to 14-16, thus preparing the culture for flowering.

Clivia

Clivia is an unpretentious plant that many growers love. He does not have any special requirements for illumination or humidity. It feels best on the windowsills of the windows facing west and east.

With proper care, the plant can bloom twice a year - from February to April and from September to the first half of November.

In summer, clivia feels good at a temperature of 20-25 degrees. In the first half of September, the plant is prepared for hibernation, reducing the temperature to 12-14 degrees. As soon as the peduncle is formed, it is raised again to 18-20.

Changing the temperature regime is primarily necessary for the flowering of an ornamental culture. The plant forms flower stalks with bright bell-shaped flowers. Collected in inflorescences, they are usually colored yellow, orange or red.
