How to get rid of snakes in the area
The first thing to do to solve this problem is to try to prevent the appearance of reptiles in your area. Therefore, you need to constantly fight in the country with any species of rodents, as well as try to maintain cleanliness and order throughout the backyard.
However, if you still have snakes, then there are several good (and relatively humane) ways to get rid of them in the garden.
1. Sharing a natural enemy
The common hedgehog is a natural enemy of snakes. And if snakes have chosen your summer cottage, then the appearance of a hedgehog on it will quickly force these reptiles to look for another habitat. However, it should be noted here that in order for the hedgehog to feel comfortable in your garden, he needs to provide appropriate living conditions.
2. Creation of unfavorable conditions
Snakes cannot stand noise and strong odors. In this connection, you can simply create unfavorable conditions for them to live in your country house:
- Make a rattle from an old plastic bottle. To do this, you need to put the bottle on a perch and cut out the blades on it, which will twist it in the presence of wind. And inside you need to attach several nuts on strings to the perch. The wind will blow, the bottle will spin, and the nuts will create a constant and annoying noise, rolling at the bottom of the bottle.
- Saturate a rag with a smelling liquid or mixture (ammonia, diesel fuel, naphthalene, etc.) and spread it near places where a snake may lurk. And the reptile will definitely leave your site if it smells a strong and unpleasant smell for itself.
