Good afternoon, my reader. The yield and size of strawberries will undoubtedly depend on the variety chosen for growing and the weather conditions. But in any case, the bushes grow well and bear fruit within two to three years. Further, the culture begins to degenerate: the formation of the rosette stops and the number of peduncles decreases. Accordingly, the yield and the size of the berries decrease.

in the fall. At this stage, the bushes are more likely to take root. Cool autumn days and regular rainfall are beneficial. Transplanted bushes do not need constant watering. During this period, flower stalks are laid for the winter, and in the summer the plantings actively bloom and bear fruit.

Important. If you change the landing site in the spring, all the forces of the plant will go to rooting. Even if the soil is constantly moistened, the flowers will be sparse and the berries will be small.

The ideal temperature for a transplant is 14-22 degrees. It is best to plant strawberries in the northern regions in late summer. Residents of the middle lane need to start the procedure from the second half of August to the end of September. For the south of the country, the best time for a transplant is from the beginning of September to the 20th of October.

How to choose the right place

The southwestern section with a slight elevation is considered the most successful place for replanting. The slope of the bed will avoid stagnation of moisture when the snow melts, due to which the root system of the strawberry rots.

The garden bed should be well lit by the sun and protected from strong winds. The best soil for growing strawberries is black soil. The culture does not tolerate peaty and sandy soils.

Important. It is not recommended to plant bushes after tomatoes, eggplants, cabbage and cucumbers. It is advisable to choose a place where beans, peas, garlic, beets or greens grew.

The soil in the garden is dug up and fertilized. For this, nitrates and phosphorus or potassium preparations are suitable. Then the soil is disinfected. To prevent pests from attacking strawberry bushes in a new place, a few days before planting the bushes, the soil should be thoroughly watered with a solution of iodine: 30 drops per 20 liters of water.

Important. It is necessary to adhere to the dosage when preparing the iodized solution, so as not to harm the root system of the plant.

If the treatment is carried out after planting strawberries, you should try not to touch the green leaves to avoid burns. The best option is to cut off the green top of the bush and only then water the beds.

To prepare the solution, not only iodine is used. You can make a composition of 9% vinegar, liquid soap, vegetable oil and charcoal. All these ingredients are also dissolved in 20 liters of water. The soil is watered abundantly and left alone for a week.

Strawberry transplant

It is better to do a transplant in It's a nasty day. The distance between the beds should be half a meter, and between the holes - 30 centimeters. The depth of the hole should be such that the roots can freely fit into it.

Procedure:

  1. Water is poured into the hole. If this is not done, moisture will not reach the bottom of the roots and they may dry out.
  2. The bush is placed in a depression and covered with soil. Care should be taken not to sprinkle the growth point on the bush.
  3. After planting, top watering is carried out.
  4. The next day, the surface of the site is mulched with freshly cut grass or straw.

If everything is done correctly, the berry bushes will delight you with a rich harvest of fresh strawberries every season.
