Germany is a country famous for its ideal roads. Who has not heard of the famous German autobahns, on which you can legally drive up to 250 km / h? And at the same time, local road services do not do without curiosities. The photo shows a new road in Bavaria, which raises a lot of questions when looking at it. At first, it’s hard to believe that pedantic Germans could have done such a strange thing.

It looks strange.
It looks strange.

You can see such a road in the German commune of Kirchdorf an der Amper, which is located in Bavaria. At first, you might think that the paved path is intended for some athletes or extreme driving enthusiasts. The path is especially brightly contrasted against the background of the road located nearby, which looks perfectly flat.

This unusual asphalt surfacing in waves is made for local cyclists.

Local authorities claim that the bike path was exactly what was intended. It was created together with a new road. The constructed site, 2 kilometers long, cost the commune almost 3.3 million euros. The authorities emphasized that if they had set the task for the contractor to make the bike path ideally even, the project would have cost even more.

In addition, officials pointed out that this shape of the bike path allows local farmers to move onto agricultural machinery to their land in order to perform certain works (how all this is connected, officials should clarify to journalists did not).

As a result, the unusual bike path quickly became something of a local attraction. German journalists from Kirchdorf made a report about her, ironically noting that the undulating the canvas is not such a problem for cyclists against the background of the slide that follows the section with irregularities. Considering the total cost of the project, it remains only to note that, most likely, theft in the construction of roads, both automobile and bicycle, is a truly international phenomenon.
