Friends, hello everyone on our channel for self-taught beginners in welding and locksmiths.
Sometimes in the comments, those who begin to use welding at home, in the country and in the garage are interested in the ano-21 electrodes. Is it worth buying a pack of such electrodes, and for what purpose they are suitable.
It is quite possible to take these inexpensive rutile-coated electrodes for your garage and summer cottage works. Let's find out what and how with these electrodes.
Ano-21 are designed for welding non-critical steel structures. They are cooked both on direct current and on alternating current. That is, both a modern inverter can be welded, and an ancient transformer.
You can weld metals in any position in space. Bottom, ceiling, vertical - here you can cook from bottom to top, and from top to bottom.
It is also good for home welding that ano-21 is welded both with a continuous seam without interruption, and welding with points with a frequent separation. A thin profile pipe can be welded safely with dots.
They will also burn completely on an imperfectly clean surface. Slight rust, old paint, other contamination - all the same, the arc will burn and weld metal.
But not everything is so good with these electrodes. There are also quite big disadvantages. I had to work a lot with this brand of electrodes, and what conclusions did I draw.
Very unstable quality, I'm not talking about different manufacturers. And even the electrodes from the same manufacturer are different. Once you take a pack, they burn and boil normally.
The next time a large percentage of trumping electrodes is when the arc does not burn directly along the axis of the electrode, but can start burning sideways right during welding, a very unpleasant moment.
So there are pluses and minuses, sometimes you may not be lucky with a batch of electrodes. And so it is quite suitable for simple garage and summer cottage welding.
