This, already 52 in a row, question with just such a title was asked by the reader Eduard. And I continue to publish for the "question-answer" section. Let me remind you that if you have your own answer to a question, then write it in the comments below. I and other readers will be happy to read it.
I quote the question from Edward verbatim:
Good day! Good people, please share your experience. I don't know which dimmer to use for a 220V, 5W LED dimmable lamp. I need to adjust the brightness of exactly one 5 W bulb. Is there some kind of modular dimmer option? Or a ready-made solution? It also needs to be built into the table. Please tell me.
I reviewed the issue and advised Edward within the framework of my knowledge and qualifications as follows:
Hello!
In terms of power, everything is simple, if you are going to connect only one LED light bulb, of course, with dimming function, then it is necessary to take a model of a circuit breaker with a margin of load capacity, at least for
30 – 50%. As a rule, dimmable switches are available for a power of 10 W or more - this is more than enough to connect a 5 W lamp.Regarding the specific model of the switch, everything is a little more complicated here, since they have a compatibility parameter with specific models of dimmable LED lamps. Most often, in the passport of the device you can find a list or table indicating specific models or manufacturers. Therefore, you need to look at a specific light bulb and a specific switch, in this matter, one power will not be limited.
Regarding the fact that you want exactly the modular type of dimmable switch, I also do not quite agree. Since it may be more profitable to cut into a table or set on a surface, another type may be more profitable. I would, try touch or in a mounting box to hide it altogether. But, this is your individual wish, but you need to see the table in order to understand where you want to install the dimmer, and where the lamp is.
