Good afternoon, my reader. For good growth and fruiting, cucumbers need additional nutrients. Gardeners adhere to the following feeding scheme.

Preventive fertilization

Even before planting seedlings in the ground, prophylactic fertilization is carried out.

8 days before planting on the dug up bed, make:

  • superphosphate - 2 tbsp. l .;
  • ammonium nitrate - 1.5 tbsp. l .;
  • potassium sulfate - 1 tbsp. l.

Such a composition will increase the fertility of the soil.

First fertilization

Occurs 14 days after planting seedlings in the ground. Nitrogen is used for it, which gives a powerful impetus to the development of green mass.

Prepare the composition:

  • water - 10 l;
  • nitrophoska - 1 tsp l .;
  • Agricola (complex composition containing trace elements and humic components) - 1 tsp. l.

All components are thoroughly mixed in a bucket. Water the plants under the root at the rate of 250 ml per seedling.

Also use formulations with mineral fertilizers:

  • urea - 1 tbsp. l .;
  • superphosphate - 65 g;
  • water - 10 liters.

The solution is poured over the plant at the root - 1 liter per seedling.

For the first feeding, organic fertilizers are taken. For example, slurry is diluted with water in a ratio of 1: 7. Cucumbers are spilled: 1 liter per 1 m 2.

Second fertilization

It is carried out during the flowering period. The future harvest depends on the quality and quantity of fertilizer during this period.

At this time, cucumbers need potassium and boron. With a lack of these nutrients, the leaves are deformed and turn yellow.

Use formulations with mineral fertilizers:

  • ammonium nitrate - 30 g;
  • water - 10 l;
  • superphosphate - 45 g;
  • potassium nitrate - 20 g.

The components are mixed and diluted with water 1:10 before use. Take 1 liter for each plant. Root top dressing.

Mineral fertilizers are easily absorbed by the root system. To make the process go faster, the planting is pre-watered.

From organic matter, preference is given to ash diluted with water in a ratio of 1:10. This component is also used for dusting green mass. This method not only provides the necessary nutrients for cucumbers, but also repels insect pests.

Top dressing of cucumbers during fruiting

At the beginning of fruiting, cucumbers require nitrogen, potassium and boron. At this time, the dosage is carefully observed. With an excess of nitrogen, yellow spots appear on the fruits, keeping quality is disturbed.

Phosphorus is added in the second half. This will increase the duration of fruiting, and make the harvest abundant.

Compositions with mineral fertilizers are used:

  • Urea (55 g) is diluted with water (10 L). Use the root method of application. One plant requires 0.5 liters.
  • Potassium nitrate (2 tbsp. l.) diluted with water (10 l). Used for foliar feeding. Standards are adhered to: 6 liters per 1 m 2.

You can extend the fruiting period of cucumbers with the help of the fourth feeding. It is held in late August - early September. At this time, the roots are mulched with rotted sawdust or cut grass.

What substances are needed for cucumbers

First of all, the culture requires nitrogen. In the spring, formulations with this element give impetus to the growth and development of the plant itself. During fruiting, it improves the processes of metabolism and photosynthesis. In autumn - prolongs the fruiting period. For this, cucumbers are sprayed with urea.

Calcium helps to improve plant immunity. Its lack is evidenced by the curling of the leaves. Then, by the root method, fresh chicken manure is introduced, diluted with water in a ratio of 1:14. Use at least 1 liter per plant.

Phosphorus is important during the period of fruit formation. With a lack of it, cucumbers will not form. At this time, formulations with liquid or granular superphosphate are used.

Potassium promotes active shoot growth and fruiting. Cucumbers require large amounts of this element. Most often, potassium salt, saltpeter, potassium magnesium are used for dressing.

In order to get a good, plentiful harvest of cucumbers, it is required to follow the feeding schemes. Consider which elements and when to add.
