What can you plant in July
Gardeners planted a second potato on the beds freed from early vegetables. Before planting, soak the tubers for 20 minutes in a urea solution (100 g per 10 liters of water). Plant the potatoes shallowly, cover it with soil with a layer of no more than 5 cm, watering is not necessary until the seedlings hatch. However, during the heat, you can lightly sprinkle them with liquid so that the tubers do not dry out in the ground.
Potatoes planted in July are not as productive as May, but these tubers keep well in winter and do not germinate.
Gardeners during this period plant carrots, beets and other vegetables intended for the summer. Until winter comes, gardeners will have a bountiful harvest of delicious vegetables.
Other vegetable plants and herbs
Salad vegetables grow well throughout the summer, so they can be planted constantly. When selecting seed material, pay attention to autumn and summer varieties that yield until the very frost and are quite resistant to stalking. Spring seeds are not suitable for planting in July as these plants are vigorous and do not produce sufficient greenery. Salad vegetables require abundant watering, as lack of moisture affects the taste. Vegetables become tough and bitter in the taste.
Plant the dill in 25-30 days. In summer, dill seeds need to be mixed with salad dressings. This will make it easier to weed because the rows will be more visible. Water the dill abundantly, otherwise the plant will stagnate and become rough.
Before the first snow comes, gardeners sow spinach. Pay attention to varieties that are resistant to flowering. If you have time, plant the turnip, which is now popular among gardeners, until the last days of July. Before sowing, add granules of drugs such as "Mukhoed", "Pochin" and "Bazudin" into the grooves. These remedies will help in the fight against cabbage fly and relieve turnips from the appearance of worms.
During this period, it is advised to plant early beans. From delicious young pods, you can prepare a variety of dishes for your household. If weather conditions do not allow harvesting, then this plant will make a wonderful green manure. The culture must be mowed and the site must be dug up.
In July, it is recommended to plant rather tasty oriental cabbage: Chinese and Peking cabbage. Early ripening varieties ripen in about one and a half to two months, as a result, up to three harvests can be harvested over the summer.
Do not just weed and water vegetables in July. With the onset of mid-summer, you can start sowing. Use this period of time fruitfully to feast on your delicious homemade preserves in winter.
