Good afternoon, my reader. Owners of household plots who decide to plant pepper should know a number of features of its cultivation. It should be noted that, unlike tomatoes, pepper seeds do not need to be buried deeply.

You should not plant the plant in open ground if there are already set fruits. Better to send it to a greenhouse or greenhouse. If you plant cilantro (coriander) between the rows of beds, this will attract beneficial insects that pollinate the pepper. And if you place marigolds or calendula next to it, it will help get rid of various pests.

During the period of active growth, pruning of very long shoots is necessary, shoots below the main fork of the stem, branches inside the crown and internal shoots that interfere with development.

Bell peppers are a vegetable that loves heat very much, so you cannot plant seeds in open ground. If a greenhouse is not provided on the site, then it is best to sow seeds in peat tablets or pots up to 10 centimeters in diameter. And they are also convenient because the seedlings can then be planted in the ground directly in them. There is no sense in pots with a larger diameter, since this will interfere with the correct development of the roots of the plant. Sowing is necessary in February. You can transplant at the beginning of May, but it is important to take into account that the pepper must be in a seedling state for at least 90 days.

It is very important to take good care of bell peppers: water regularly, remove weeds, apply fertilizers, tie up a young plant.

Before planting, it is necessary to soak the seeds in warm (no less and no more than fifty degrees) water for 5 hours so that they swell. Next, place on a moistened cloth, gauze works well, and leave for 2-3 days at a temperature of about 20 degrees. Germinated seeds are more germinating.

When landing in the ground, the temperature should not exceed 28 degrees during the day and be below 10 degrees at night.

Watering the pepper

Frequent watering is undesirable - it can interfere with the development of the plant, and it runs the risk of getting sick with the "black leg". This is a fungal disease, just rot. The water should not be hotter than 30 degrees, and if it is very cold, this can lead to poor growth and even death of seedlings. After each watering, it is imperative to loosen the soil - this will open access to the roots for air. It is advisable to use settled water. Watering must be done carefully, avoiding the ingress of water on the plant itself.

You also need to often ventilate the room and spray it systematically, since dry air is extremely dangerous. But at the same time, do not allow plants to get into a draft and avoid temperature changes.

The soil must be fertilized a year before planting. Planting pepper is carried out in already fertilized soil. The planting depth in the ground should not exceed the planting depth in pots. It is very important to ensure that the roots are not exposed.

It is strictly forbidden to transplant bell peppers into cold soil.
