The product was delivered to our country from the North Caucasus, Moldova and Dagestan, as well as Abkhazia. But there has never been a Georgian wine of this brand. The most interesting thing is that the Isabella grapes are not even grown here.
This fact may surprise many. After all, wine made from Isabella grapes turns out to be tasty and aromatic, and the berries themselves are large and can be eaten due to their excellent taste. Not all wine varieties can boast of the latter.
In Moldova, this drink is still very popular, and the local population always advises visitors to it.
In the North Caucasus, the attitude towards Isabella is similar. Grapes are equally good in any drink - wine, chacha, juice. It always gives a bright aftertaste.
But with Georgia, things are different. This guilt is treated with indignation here.

The indigenous people of this country call him "dead". From their explanation, it follows that real good wine only improves its qualities and taste with age. In fact, it makes itself better every day. And if you have patience, then gradually the wine will turn from red to white. However, Isabella does not change at all. On top of that, during the fermentation process, a reaction takes place and a small amount of methyl alcohol is produced. They will not be able to poison themselves, but, according to the properties, such alcohol is practically not excreted from the body. Accordingly, accumulating over the years, over time can cause serious harm to health.
2. About the Isabella grape variety
This variety was imported from the United States. In European countries, it was adopted, as this grape is resistant to low temperatures, unpretentious in cultivation and gives a good harvest.

Several decades passed, and "Isabella" appeared in all corners of the continent, in particular on the territory of the USSR. Until now, it is actively grown in the North Caucasus, Ukraine, Moldova and the Kuban. But winemakers from Georgia rejected it immediately for obvious reasons. They continue to cultivate their own varieties, of which there are a huge number in this amazing country.

Today there are over two hundred grape varieties in Georgia. It is quite possible that in the near future there will be much more of them. Here, a program was launched aimed at reviving long-forgotten ancient varieties lost in time. Rumor has it that several of them have already been restored.
