The first signs of damage to them are the appearance of pale yellowish spots on the leaves. Over time, they grow, turn pale, the leaf dries up and falls off. If you look closely, you can see thin cobwebs - they are produced by the same mite.

It is difficult to see him himself: his dimensions are less than a millimeter. But when there are many of them, tiny whitish lumps of cobwebs appear on the leaves.

The mite is especially active in dry air, so greenhouse or indoor roses suffer most from it.

What to do:

  3. Remove the affected parts of the plant, collect visible mites with a wet cloth.
  4. If prevention did not help, use drugs with acaricidal properties (Fitoverm and analogues).

Rose leaf roll

Caterpillars of this insect hatch from eggs in leaves rolled into a tube. First, they all gobble up the leaf on which they hatched, and then they spread out and begin to gnaw everything. A characteristic sign of a rose lesion is curled or gnawed leaves. Leafworms are rampant for about 30-40 days, then butterflies are already emerging from the caterpillars.

It is difficult to deduce them, but you can:

Rosaceous sawfly

Hibernates at the roots of roses. The larvae, hatching in the second half of spring, slowly devour all parts of the plant. Having gained strength and reaching maturity, the larvae go down to pupate in the soil.

The sawfly attacks the plant in two ways:

  • ascending, when leaving wintering - rises from the roots and eats leaves, leaving only veins;
  • descending, going to pupate - gnaws through the passages in the shoots, because of which the plant darkens and withers.

How to fight:

  1. Cut and burn affected shoots.
  2. Loosen the soil before wintering to expose the pests to frost.
  3. Treat the soil with hexachlorane during pupation.
  4. Treat the flowerbed with "Inta-Vir" or a similar preparation.
