6. Add colors

Additional colors can be added to the neutral scale of the scandi interior. An important rule is that they must be complex. These are those in which several basic colors are mixed at once, as well as a lot of gray, due to which they are perceived as a little dusty. Dark shades are also acceptable, such details will look contrasting against the background of light walls.

In this case, the arrangement of colored spots should be ordered. You can conditionally divide the plane of the room into three layers - lower, middle and upper. Colored accents should prevail in only one of the tiers.

For example, the bottom - a sofa and a pouf - should be accentuated, and the top - lightweight. Or limit the range of color to the middle tier, you can use paintings or decorate an accent wall. Dark top options are only suitable for tall rooms.

5. Use textiles

The easiest way to add variety is with textiles and decor. Plaid, pillows, carpets and curtains can seriously affect the picture.

Even if the experiment fails, it won't be difficult to change the details.

4. Include patterns

A variety of ornaments and patterns should be applied in dosage. If the interior uses a large carpet with a pattern, you can support it with the same pattern on pillow, however, on a large scale, it should no longer be encountered, otherwise the interior will look overloaded.

It is better to make the rest of the textiles plain and add variety through textures, for example, combine linen, burlap and velvet.

3. Diversify textures

You can enrich the interior with a variety of textures.

For example, combine rough wood with polished stone, glass or metal, matting with wicker furniture. This will make the interior look more thoughtful and interesting.

2. Buy plants

Any light neutral interior will refresh well greenery - flowers in pots or small trees. If you are not a gardener at all, you can also consider artificial plants.

Today, many of them look almost indistinguishable from natural ones. Another alternative is dried flowers. So that they do not crumble, treat them with varnish.

1. Avoid emptiness

It is important to consider that an uncluttered interior does not mean empty. If there is only a sofa and an armchair in the living room and there is no, for example, a floor lamp or additional textiles, the room will look almost two-dimensional.

The lack of any variety in shapes, colors or details is the reason for the boring interior. You should not go to such an extreme. If you are an adherent of an ascetic interior with minimal decor, you can choose furniture with expressive details, for example, a bed with a rattan headboard or a chest of drawers with thin legs.
