1. Yarygin pistol
Work on the PY began back in the Soviet Union in the 1980s by order of the Ministry of Defense. Despite the collapse of the socialist state, the project of a new 9 mm pistol has not sunk into oblivion. Development was carried out in Tula. The first prototype, codenamed "Rook", appeared in 1991. The PYa was adopted in 2003 in three modifications for different 9 mm cartridges. Subsequently, a commercial modification of the weapon also appeared.
2. Stechkin automatic pistol
Despite its venerable age and complex history, the APS is still used by law enforcement agencies. Largely because the weapon came out with a very narrow specialization, and therefore is primarily of interest to intelligence officers. However, at the dawn of its appearance, the APS tried to become a common and single short-barreled weapon for the entire army. The automatic pistol was produced at the Molot enterprise from 1952 to 1959.
3. Gryazev-Shipunov pistol
The GSh-18 pistol was created at the facilities of the Tula plant. Tests of the first working sample started in Russia in 2001. Two years later, the General Staff was officially adopted as one of the additional options for an army pistol chambered for 9 mm. When developing this short-barreled rifled weapon, the task was to create a pistol with increased penetration. As a result, GSH-18 can easily cope with 2nd class body armor. They are mainly armed with special forces soldiers.
4. Serdyukov pistol
Another domestic pistol, whose history began shortly before the collapse of the Soviet Union. Work on the PCA started already in 1991. Then the Ministry of Defense of the country set the task for the designers to create such an army pistol, which in its characteristics would in every possible way surpass the pistols of other countries. At a distance of 100 meters, the Union of Right Forces easily penetrates a steel soldier's helmet. Today it is produced mainly for the 9 mm cartridge for the needs of special forces.

5. Small special pistol
A real child of the Cold War, who, according to some sources, is in service with Russian intelligence to this day. An SME was created at the Tula Arms Plant in the 1960s for the needs of foreign and domestic intelligence. The main feature of the pistol is the possibility of almost silent shooting. Such an incredible effect is achieved thanks to a specific system for removing powder gases. True, the SMP is designed for only two shots in a row. However, given the specifics of the application, more is often not required.
