On July 15, 2021, alkaline batteries disappeared from all Russian IKEA stores.

A plate about the rejection of alkaline batteries appeared on the site.

Yesterday I went to IKEA in Europolis to see if the leftovers were being sold. No, everything was removed.

The only type of AAA batteries on sale is 750 mAh batteries. In other stores there are also AAA 950 mAh batteries marked "comes out of assortment "(these are the latest Japanese batteries from the Sanyo-Panasonic factory, known by the Eneloop brand), as well as AA 1900 mAh and 2450 mAh.

The only batteries that can now be bought from IKEA are lithium CR2032 (by the way, they are the best on the market in terms of price-performance ratio).

You should not be upset about the termination of the sale of Alkalisk batteries. Once upon a time, these batteries were the best in terms of price-capacity ratio (they cost 79/89 rubles per ten and were produced in Belgium). Recently, these batteries cost 199 rubles per ten, were produced in China and had more modest characteristics.

It just so happened that I managed to buy a packet of AAA from the title photo on the last day of the sale, not knowing that there would be no more. I bought them to make sure the capacity is smaller than before. These batteries gave 1250 mWh in a gentle discharge mode of 100 mA (AA - 3000 mWh), which corresponds to the level of conventional cheap batteries.

IKEA ditched alkaline batteries because they are not environmentally friendly. When I bought these batteries on the last day of the sale, there were several thousand packs of batteries in the window, and this is only in one store. I wonder if now all the millions of unsold batteries will be recycled and thrown into landfill in an environmentally friendly way?
