I am constantly asked which pipe to use for irrigation at the Dacha. Explaining for the last time

My neighbors in the country who know that I work as a plumber periodically turn to me for advice. The main question is which pipe to use for watering and feeding the houses with water. Than one pipe is better than another worse. And can they be frozen.

In order not to repeat myself many times, I am writing this article and will send it to members of the gardening community who need help.

The simplest water supply at a summer cottage is the use of watering hoses. But you need to understand that their service life is much lower than that of the cheapest pipes. Moreover, having diluted a sufficient number of water sockets from the "correct" pipes along the site, it will be unnecessary to unwind a large number of dirty hoses.

What pipes can not be used in the country and in frozen baths?

In order for the pipes to perform their function after wintering and do not require repair, materials that do not stretch under pressure must not be used. Namely: Steel ordinary and high-alloyed, copper. With the exception of the corrugated stainless steel Stahlmann, which is mounted on my site, the link to the article -

here. In addition, the use of metal-plastic is not desirable.

What water supply pipes can be used in the country?

If your country house and sauna freeze in winter, i.e. the temperature drops below zero, then you need to use polymer pipes.

Made of polypropylene. pros: not afraid of freezing in winter, hidden installation in the ground is possible. After installation, with proper fastening, they look aesthetically pleasing. Does not corrode. Low cost of fittings. Minuses: a welding machine is required, skill is required when working with it.

Made of polyethylene, HDPE. Pros. It is also not afraid of freezing, the installation of connections is simple, but it requires studying the main points when assembling threaded fittings. Does not corrode. Ideal for underground installations. Minuses: looks not always pleasing to the eye. Requires good fastening because it is supplied in coils and the pipe tries to return to its original circumference.

Important: So that your plastic pipes do not burst, it is necessary to relieve the pressure in the pipes at the end of the gardening period and, if possible, blow them out. And it is also desirable to install in such a way that the liquid flows out of them by gravity when the water is drained.

Now I can send the article to my friends and neighbors if they want detailed information about the pipeline in the country. By the way, you should do it if the information is relevant. Save to bookmarks by clicking the buttons Ctrl + D on keyboard.
