Hello dear friends!

I haven't written an article for a long time, and today I want to share with you a very interesting idea or even an experiment that I conducted the other day. The experiment turned out to be very successful, in my opinion.

I went into a supermarket and saw a rubber hot plate for only 100 rubles. I immediately got the idea to try to make a decorative spatula out of it to match the texture of wood. I tried it and it worked out for me, I share the result.

This is what the stand looks like.

And here's what I needed for the experiment:

· Rubber hot plate;

· A suitable size cylinder (spray paint);

· A small rule;

· Plaster finishing putty;

· Spatula.

At first I wanted to glue the rubber to the cylinder, but then I decided, since this is an experiment, then I can do without glue, I'll show you how.

Step 1.

I spread the plaster finishing putty, quite liquid.

Step 2.

First I decided to try on a piece of plywood what would happen. Putty putty in a layer of 2-3 mm.

I simply wrapped the rubber stand on a can of paint and pressed the edges with my fingers.

I ran a spatula and got an interesting woody pattern.

Step 3.

Once it turned out on a small piece, I decided to try it on the wall.

Primed it.

Step 4.

I did not apply the putty to the entire area at once, but only in a strip, approximately 40 cm wide.

Step 5.

In the same way as on plywood, I ran it with an impromptu spatula.

Step 6.

Putty another strip and repeated the action with a spatula.

Step 7.

While the putty is damp, in a short rule I drew lines that will imitate the edges of the boards.

Step 8.

After the putty had dried well, I sanded it a little.

That's what I did.

If desired, in this way you can decorate a wall of any area, it will be especially easy if you work together. And also, this texture will be well painted under a tree.

By the way, the rubber mat is perfectly cleaned from putty, or you can just leave it to dry and the putty will fall off by itself.
