Friends, you are on the self-taught beginner channel in manual arc welding and locksmith. And just for all metal lovers who like to spy on something new or, on the contrary, share their experience with others. We have all this in the comments after the article.

Before welding a profile pipe, it must be very carefully measured and marked. And no less accurately and accurately cut off the blanks we need with a grinder. It is advisable to cut these blanks with an accuracy of a millimeter or two. Why is this so important?

The profile pipe that we use in most of our structures at home or in the country has a very thin metal, because of this, such pipes are quite light. And before they were still quite cheap, but maybe that time will return.

Therefore, when welding over too large gaps, beginners will have difficulties. Frequent burn-throughs will be obtained, such welding will turn out - most of the time will be spent on welding the burn-throughs, and not on the welding of the desired seam itself.

And what should a beginner do who does not yet have a lot of welding experience, but it is very necessary to weld this pipe. Following the logic, we just need to remove this gap. And to remove the gap is easier and quicker of all, the only way is to put something metal in this gap.

Then it will be possible to weld bolder and faster. And the simplest and most affordable material for this, which was used by all welders 10 and 50 years ago, will be the same electrode from the pack with which you weld this pipe. But here's what to do with the electrode.

We beat off the electrode from the coating. We get such a metal core. With this piece of wire, we will lay our gap for convenient welding without burn-throughs.

When welding, simply direct the arc to the steel core, so the edges of the pipes being welded will not receive all the power from the arc. I almost forgot that this welding method is called additive welding.

Here's a simple way. For an experienced welder, this is far from news, but for a beginner it will be a good assistant at first. Then, as you gain experience and skill in welding thin metal, welding with an additive will no longer be needed.

Although you can always use this method to facilitate welding of a thin pipe with a large gap.
