Cake boxes are a great material for making various crafts. And even more so, if you have your own garden plot or summer cottage, then with the help of a box you can easily make beauty!
Here's what I used to work:
1. Cake box (the bigger the better);
2. Cling film (or vegetable oil);
3. Cement and sand;
4. Spray paints and / or acrylic paints;
5. Varnish.
Step 1.
I mix sand and cement first in dry form in a proportion of 2 parts of sand and 1 part of cement. Then I add water and stir. I make the solution quite liquid so that it pours.
By the way, my cement is M400, and the sand is the most common, quarry. It is better to sift the sand. And yet, if there is a high clay content in the sand, then the product may crack when it dries.
Step 2.
A plastic bucket or other container must be wrapped with cling film or greased with vegetable oil.
Step 3.
I pour the liquid solution into the cake box, about 2/3 and immerse the bucket in the solution so that it does not reach the bottom of 1.5-2 cm. I pour water into the bucket so that it does not float.
I leave it in this state for 12-16 hours, until the solution hardens a little, but not much.
Step 4.
While the solution is still soft, I take out the bucket in the bottom of the hole and leave it to dry for another 1.5-2 days.
Step 5.
After the solution is already strong, I cut the box and take out the almost finished product.
Step 6.
If the edges are a little uneven, they can be lightly sanded with coarse sandpaper.
Step 7.
Well, now it's up to little, paint and varnish. You can paint as you like, in any colors and shades.
I first sprayed with green paint, then a little bit of acrylic silver paint.
And finally, I covered it with a good layer of varnish from a spray can, which will protect the product from weather conditions.
