Science fiction has become a reality. Taxis without drivers will appear on the streets of Moscow in the near future.
Yandex began developing an automatic driving system in 2017. In the fall of 2018, an unmanned taxi started working in Innopolis (I rode it: https://ammo1.livejournal.com/1052792.html). But Innopolis is a small town with only one big street and rare cars driving along it. Moscow, with insane traffic and equally insane individual drivers and pedestrians, is a completely different matter.
Today they announced the launch of test operation of an unmanned taxi in the Moscow district of Yasenevo. Unlike the entire pre-test period, there will be no insurance driver in the cabin - only computers and passengers. The drones will carry passengers around the Yasenevo, Novoyasenevskaya and Bitsevsky Park metro stations.
So far, an unmanned taxi cannot be called by everyone. In order to use it, you can fill out an application on the website https://sdg.yandex.ru/taxi/yasenevo.
I wonder what percentage of passengers will agree to ride a "miracle of technology", and what percentage is afraid to get into a car controlled by a computer. Would you take a ride?
