There are other plants that do well in acidic soil. They also do not need ash, and sometimes it can seriously harm: rhododendron, tricolor violet, hydrangea, lilies and roses (not all varieties), lilies of the valley, berries that owe their origin to forest relatives (blueberries, blueberries, lingonberries, cranberries), conifers, juniper and not only.

In this case, coal ash, which has an acidic reaction, is suitable. One glass of ash is used for one square meter. Thus, the soil where all the above plants grow can be acidified.

When ash is very harmful

Wood, peat, and straw ash have an alkaline reaction. If the soil already has high alkali values, the ash will be superfluous. In the case of acidic soil, the permissible dosages should also be observed. A maximum of a liter of powder can be taken per square meter. As a neutralizer of increased acidity, ash acts for two to four years. When applied annually, alkalization of the soil may occur.

Ash and manure, mineral nitrogen fertilizers cannot be used simultaneously, since the first component displaces nitrogen, which is important for plants. It is also undesirable to mix ash with phosphorus fertilizers, since in this case phosphates are not assimilated by plants. If plastic, fabrics, rubber, wood products coated with varnish or paint, ash were burned along with the firewood becomes unsuitable for further use, since it will saturate the earth with heavy metals and other harmful substances.
