A processor for tablets has been developed in Zelenograd

The photo shows the Russian processor 1892BA018, aka "Skif", aka "Scythian". On the basis of this processor, it is planned to start producing tablets for the public sector, including schools and medical institutions.

Skif processor developed by the Zelenograd Research and Production Center "Electronic Computing and Information Systems" (SPC "Elvis") based on the ARM architecture. Skif is manufactured using 28 nm technology at the Taiwanese TSMC plant. It is a system-on-chip with an optimized architecture for multimedia, navigation and communications applications.

According to the developers, the performance of Skif tablets will be at the level of Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 SM-T515 (2019), Lenovo Tab M10 Plus TB-X606F (2020), iPad Air (2013).

In addition to tablets, "Skif" can be used in smart cameras, single-board computers, robotics, artificial intelligence systems, communication devices, telecom equipment.

Skif is the first Russian low-power processor for mobile use. It includes:

4-core CPU ARM Cortex-A53 (architecture ARMv8 64 bit), frequency 1.8-2 GHz;
GPU PowerVR graphics processor;
trusted loading and control circuit based on its own controller "Multicore";
high-performance 2-core DSP cluster ELcore-50 with hardware support for signal processing functions, artificial intelligence algorithms based on neural networks, encryption;
connected accelerators (Viterbi, Turbo, FFT, etc.);
programmable SDR block.
I / O and image processing units 4K 60 fps (ISP with HDR function, HEVC / H.264 codec);
navigation core with GLONASS / GPS / BeiDou / GALILEO support.

The first batch (1000 pieces) came from Taiwan in July 2021, the second large batch in September.

The first samples of tablets on the "Scythians" should appear by the summer of 2022, the serial batch by the end of 2022.

SPC "Elvis", which developed "Skif", was created in 1990 on the basis of one of the divisions of NPO "Elas", which has developed more than 400 microcircuits since 1960 (mainly for space technology).

I know that many will be outraged that the processor manufactured in Taiwan is called Russian. But in our age of globalization, it is important not where something is produced, but where it is developed.
