Ideal LED lamp for 21 rubles

It is surprising to realize that a rather complex electronic device, which is an LED light bulb, can cost 21 rubles.

It is even more difficult to believe that this light bulb is flawless in all respects.

Ideal LED lamp for 21 rubles

I will not keep the intrigue, this is a RYET 470 lm lamp from IKEA.

Ideal LED lamp for 21 rubles

Until recently, these bulbs cost 35 rubles (which is also very cheap), but now the price has been lowered to 21 rubles.

IKEA is one of the brands that never lies with lamp parameters. I have tested such bulbs from different lots several times and always the measured parameters were very close to those indicated on the package. Here are the results from my last test of such a lamp:

Spectrum and color parameters.

The lamp has practically no ripple (ripple coefficient 0.5%), a fairly high color rendering index CRI (Ra) 83, the skin color rendering index R9 is 13. The lamp works correctly with switches that have an indicator (does not flash and does not glow dimly when such a switch is turned off).

This lamp has a very high efficiency of 106 lm / W.

There are also important parameters that are not indicated on the packaging and the manufacturer's website.

First is the type of driver and the minimum voltage. Despite the ultra-low price, the lamp is built on a full-fledged impulse (IC) driver. In fact, it contains a built-in regulator and its brightness does not change over a very wide range of voltage variation in the network. Even if the mains voltage drops to 140 volts, the lamp will burn as brightly as at 230 V. At 133 V, its brightness will decrease by 5%. Voltage drops and noise in the network are not reflected in any way on the glow of the lamp. This means that such lamps can be used in rural areas and wherever the mains voltage is unstable. No neighbor welder will be able to make the light of this light flicker, as happens with incandescent and linear driver LED bulbs.

Secondly, due to its low power, the lamp does not get very hot. The temperature of its body is 69 ° C, which suggests that the lamp may well work out the indicated box of 15,000 hours (1 year 9 months when working 24/7 and about 10 years when working 4 hours a day), and maybe more.

It will seem to many that 470 lumens is very little and such a lamp is no good, but this is not so. IKEA states the equivalent of a European incandescent lamp - 40W. Under real conditions, a 40-watt incandescent lamp produces less light. At a voltage of 230 volts, 40-watt incandescent lamps give 360-410 lm, if the voltage is 220 volts (and in our country there is still such a voltage in many places), 40-watt lamps give only 300-350 lm. So we can safely assume that 470 lumens is a replacement for a 50 W incandescent lamp.

This honest 5.5W lamp gives more light than many other lamps that have much higher wattage. I have seen lamps that read "15 W", which gave 400 lumens.

You will need at least six of these lamps to illuminate a 20-meter room, but room lighting is not the only use for these bulbs:

• This is the perfect phytolamp. Its spectrum is great for any plants and for them it is much better than the red-blue light of conventional phytolamps, and the light efficiency is higher. This means that not only will such lamps for seedling lighting be much cheaper than specialized phyto lamps, but also the cost of electricity will be less.

• It is the ideal lamp for technical lighting. A dozen cheap ceramic sockets, a dozen of such bulbs, and for 500 rubles you get a light for a garage or shed with a record 4700 lumens (high color rendering index, no ripple and built-in stabilizer in addition).

• It is an ideal lamp for decorative purposes. Shop windows and cafes are often decorated with rows of lamps, and these bulbs are great for such rows.

• This is a good lamp when several lamps are placed around a mirror.

I do not know how long this "action of unprecedented generosity" will last. Most likely, IKEA sells these lamps at a loss in order to lure buyers to take other goods. In China, the wholesale price of cheap lamps is now about 25 cents, and they still need to be brought in and cleared through customs, which adds at least the same amount.

In the price range up to 100 rubles, IKEA RYET 470 lm is the best LED lamp that you can buy in Russia now.

P.S. Of course, this is not a promotional article. No one asked me to write her, and IKEA is most likely not interested in advertising a product that does not bring profit.
