I have been using this credit card for almost two years now, and Citibank's generosity does not end there. During this time, I received more than 25 thousand rubles in the form of a cashback, despite the fact that I spent very little on it, and did not pay a penny to the bank.
Let's start with the fact that City is a very peculiar bank. In many ways, it lags behind the leading banks for ten years: the Internet banking interface will terrify those who are used to modern Internet banks, the support service works on weekdays during business hours, a lot is incomprehensible and unclear, but CitiBank distributes money almost everyone. :)
To begin with, City will give you 8,000 rubles if you meet all the conditions after receiving a Citi Select credit card:
2000 rubles will be given for the first purchase within 45 days from the date of approval of the card;
Another 2,000 rubles will be given if you make purchases in the amount of more than 10,000 rubles during these 45 days;
Another 4000 rubles will be given with points of the Crossroads or Children's World for issuing a card by my link.
And then they will accrue selections (these are internal bonuses) for all purchases, as well as for payments for utilities and a mobile phone in application or Internet bank (important: for housing and communal services and phone numbers, selections are credited only when paying in the application or Internet Banking!). It is most profitable to change these selections for Perekrestok or Detsky Mir points or Ural Airlines miles. In this case, cashback from purchases will be 3% (300 Crossroads points for a purchase for 1000 rubles, these points can be used to pay for purchases in this store entirely with an additional payment of 1 rubles). You can compensate for previous purchases with selections or simply exchange them for money, but this is less profitable (you get a cashback of 1.875% or 1.5%, respectively).
There is one more trick. If after a couple of months the card is "covered" (call support and say that you want to close the card), most likely you will be called in a couple of days and will offer a 10% cashback for everything with money for several months (in this case, you can receive up to 1000 rubles of such a cashback per month) if you agree not to close map. I've covered the map four or five times already. :) The last time they gave a cashback of 10% for six months before the new year, I'm using it. :)
And there are also special promotions, for example, before the new school year, they gave up to 2,500 rubles for the purchase of any electronics in the amount of 20,000 rubles or more.
The card has a grace period of up to 50 days and if you always repay the loan on time, there will be no interest.
The card is issued free of charge. If you spend more than 10,000 rubles a month or spend nothing at all, the service will also be free (otherwise 199 rubles a month). It is quite simple to ensure spending of 10 thousand: it is enough to pay for an apartment, for a telephone, and at least half of the amount will be spent.
I think, after reading all of the above, you are waiting for a catch. :) There is no catch, but there are nuances:
- Citibank branches only exist in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Volgograd, Yekaterinburg, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Samara and Ufa. In these cities the courier will bring the card. Can I get a card in other cities, I don't know, maybe not;
- Despite the fact that this is a regular Mastercard, it cannot be added to Google Pay (only Apple Pay and Samsung Pay are supported);
- When issuing a card, you need to refuse paid services - SMS informing (89 rubles / month) and insurance. If you did not immediately refuse, you will need to disconnect the call;
- It is not visible in the Internet bank how many select points are awarded for each operation;
- It is often very difficult to get answers to questions from support, and sometimes you can get opposite answers from different operators.
