7. Instead of paintings
Wallpaper with a pattern or an interesting pattern can be placed in a frame, turning it into an unusual decor element. And to create a frameless poster, you need a canvas and a stapler - the wallpaper must be fixed to the wooden canvas base from the back side.
Make sure that the style and color of the wallpaper echoes the existing interior. It is better to use a plain surface as a background for such objects.
6. New lampshade
Wallpaper can be used to make a lampshade for a floor lamp, table lamp or sconce. It is important to take into account that with the light on, the shade of the canvas will change, so it is better to try on the wallpaper before starting work.
And to create an accordion lampshade, you need to form folds and punch holes along the top edge. After that, all that remains is to thread a rope or cord and pull the product into a funnel.
5. For finishing furniture
Printed wallpaper is often used to decorate furniture. For example, a wardrobe with a panel and bright wallpaper inside the frame looks very stylish. The main thing is to choose the color of the cabinet to the wallpaper so that everything looks harmonious together. You can also update your wardrobe or shelving with wallpaper: glue the back of the open storage case, and it will look completely different.
Previously, the surface of the furniture must be sanded to remove the old varnish and provide better adhesion to the material. In the case of wallpaper, you need special glue. Finally, the product is covered with acrylic varnish.
4. Patchwork
Wallpaper trims can be used to create a patchwork accent wall. You can arrange them in different ways, the most common option is square cutouts of the same size.
Canvases with a floral print look especially harmonious. The finished surface will resemble a patchwork quilt.
3. Kitchen apron
Another unusual way to use old wallpaper is to use it in the design of the kitchen backsplash.
Even good moisture-resistant wallpaper is unlikely to cope with the constant exposure to moisture and dirt, so the area above the work surface will have to be covered with tempered glass. Such a solution can be a way out for those who cannot decide on the choice of an apron.
2. For ceiling decoration
For some reason, such a solution rarely finds supporters, but this technique is undeservedly deprived of attention. It is ideal for those who do not want to make kitsch out of their apartment, but want to add a twist.
Basically, when we enter a room, our gaze falls on the walls, and we notice the ceiling only with peripheral vision and when we lie down. Therefore, you can make the walls in a calm shade and add an accent to the ceiling in the form of wallpaper.
1. Pleated curtains
You can make pleated curtains from the wallpaper. This will be a little more difficult. And if you already have such curtains, you can simply change the corrugated sheet for wallpaper and thus it is interesting to update the window decor.
