Popular wisdom says: what is good for a Russian, then for a German is so-so. This statement can be questioned. At least with regard to summer cottages! Many residents of Germany also have country houses, which they love to travel to for recreation, as soon as the season comes. At the same time, a number of specific laws in relation to dacha land tenure are in force in the Federal Republic of Germany. The strangest thing for a Russian brother is guaranteed to be the one that forbids the Germans to spend the night on their own sites. What's the matter?

The law prohibits Germans from spending the night only on a specific type of suburban area, namely the "Kleingarten". The "terrible" German word hides only the concept of "allotment garden". This is not exactly the same as a summer cottage in the former Soviet republics. In Germany, this is primarily a small garden and (or) vegetable garden, next to which there is no full-fledged dwelling in the form of a country house. On such sites, there is often only a gazebo, and at best, a summer house with minimal amenities.

Dachas "Kleingarten" are widespread primarily in the south of Germany, as well as in Switzerland. The Germans themselves do not own the land in them in most cases. It is owned by garden partnerships, which lease plots to local residents at a relatively low price. At the same time, the summer resident gets the opportunity to start his own garden and garden. Kleingarten are especially popular in the eastern part of the country. Unlike many domestic summer cottages, German kleingarten often lie next to cities or even within cities in places where urban development is unprofitable.

Germans are legally prohibited from spending the night in the Kleingarten for fire safety reasons. In the gazebos and summer houses on the plots, the entire complex of protective measures necessary from the point of view of German legislation cannot be implemented. First of all, there is no fire alarm in such buildings. At the same time, housing construction on the territory of the plots is prohibited, buildings can only be one-story, and their heating must be strictly electric.
