With a highly developed nitrogen deficiency in a plant, all leaves become pale yellow in color. At the top of the plant, they may still be green, but they remain very small and stop growing altogether. The stems harden and, with insufficient watering, acquire a red tint.
Such a plant can be saved by applying some well-known fertilizers. For example, urea, ammonium nitrate or ammonium sulfate. But it is better not to bring it to such a state, but try to use fertilizers on time, since the recovery process is very long.
How is phosphorus deficiency manifested?
In this condition, white spots appear on the plant. These are the dead areas. It is this condition that is often confused with various diseases, but you just need to replenish the phosphorus balance. Superphosphate and ammonium monophosphate are well suited for this purpose. But they must be entered either once or twice, but no more.
Just a lack of potassium
As a rule, when there is not enough potassium, the plant is very susceptible to various diseases and pests. And against this background, it becomes lethargic and has a painful appearance. Potassium is washed out of the soil faster than other trace elements.
Lack of potassium manifests itself as "burnt leaves". When the deficiency of this trace element becomes more significant, the area of spoiled leaves increases. Young leaves become wrinkled and take on an ashy hue. Over time, a lack of potassium can kill the plant.

Calcium may not be enough
Deficiency of this trace element begins to manifest itself very slowly due to the fact that calcium itself has low mobility. In this case, the leaves begin to deteriorate at the base.
This condition manifests itself very simply: dark, almost black spots of rot are formed on the fruits. The lower leaves of the plant also begin to deteriorate.
Calcium nitrate can save this condition. But it should not be introduced at the root.
No magnesium
With a lack of magnesium, necrosis of tomato leaves occurs, and then this state becomes similar to when there is not enough potassium. As a rule, the lower leaves are affected, which acquire a light shade, and then curl and fall off. But the veins themselves at the leaves can be green for a long time.
Try the following solution: dilute 1 teaspoon of Epsom salts with 10 liters of water. It is necessary to spray the leaves with such a solution. The solution for spraying from magnesium nitrate is prepared in the same way.
