A good harvest of cucumbers can only be obtained using mineral fertilizing. Without them, the plant will bloom poorly, slowly build up green mass and refuse to form fruits. Cucumbers need nitrogen more than others. Few people know that the element is contained in ammonia, which is sold in pharmacies. I use this drug instead of expensive "chemistry". It also helps protect shrubs from disease and pests.
Benefits of processing cucumbers with ammonia
The first time I used ammonia as a top dressing was when I saw signs of nitrogen deficiency in plants in the garden. (yellowing, brittle shoots, slow growth and deformed fruits), and no specialized preparations are at hand it turned out. I'm talking about the advantages of feeding with ammonia:
- low price;
- nitrogen does not accumulate in cucumbers and does not turn into nitrates;
- the plant assimilates exactly as much as it needs;
- does not change the composition of the soil;
- at the same time protects against pests and diseases.
Dosage according to all the rules
Ammonia is used diluted. The concentration is determined with an eye to the stage of plant development.
- Spraying. It is carried out with a solution prepared from 20 ml of ammonia per 10 liters of water. The feeding method is suitable for seedlings with two true leaves at the beginning of flowering.
- Watering. For abundant flowering, take 90 ml of the drug per 10 liters of water, the formation of fruits - 45 ml, with an obvious lack of nitrogen 120 ml per 10 liters of water.
It should be applied once a week, while eliminating nitrogen deficiency - every three days.
From diseases
The ammonia solution can help fight fungi, viruses, and bacteria. Prophylaxis should be carried out throughout the season. Before sowing seeds, I disinfect the soil with a solution of 10 ml of ammonia and 10 liters of water. Pour 100 ml of the mixture into each well.
When a bush gets sick, I remove the damaged parts of the plants and make a solution of 50 ml of ammonia in a bucket of water, with which I then spray the plant. I repeat the procedure again after 2 weeks.
From harmful insects
The unpleasant smell of ammonia is not tolerated by aphids, spider mites, bear, whitefly, wireworm and slugs. To combat them, I use the following recipe: for 10 liters of water, take 50 ml of ammonia and 150 grams of laundry soap, rubbed into shavings. The last ingredient will keep the solution from draining quickly from the leaves.
At my dacha, ammonia is not only in the first-aid kit, but also in the garden fertilizer box. With the help of this drug, you can get a good harvest of cucumbers, the main thing is not forgetting about the dosage.
