In the summer, we often relax at the dacha, we go there for the whole weekend. We do not have a centralized gas supply on the site. The reason is that both our country house and all our neighbors have gas cylinders in their houses. And I wondered if it might be more profitable to purchase an electric stove? Or it is still better to constantly refuel the gas cylinder.
Pros and cons of gas cylinders
Initially, let's talk about gas. Gas cylinders are quite heavy and difficult and inconvenient to carry. Even an empty one such cylinder weighs about 20 kilograms, and a full one becomes twice as heavy. Not everyone can carry such a weight to the house.
I also want to say about the efficiency of gas stoves. It turns out that not all of the bottled gas is used for cooking. The efficiency of the slab is about 60%. And the rest is spent on heating the room. On average, refueling a cylinder costs 750 - 1000 rubles. It turns out that every 1 kW * hour of gas energy costs 5 rubles. Electricity is often not that expensive in villages.
Advantages and disadvantages of electric stoves
Now let's move on to discussing electric stoves. Consider their pros:
- 1. The plates are safe enough. If the house loses electricity, the stove will simply turn off and nothing terrible will happen. But if a gas leak occurs, it is very serious.
- 2. The included electric stove does not emit harmful substances into the air. Let's think about the gas, which, during combustion, gives off a lot of bad things.
- 3. Electric stoves are multifunctional devices. It is convenient to cook on them.
- 4. The money spent on buying a stove will quickly pay off.
Speaking about the pros, one cannot but mention the cons:
- 1. Not every wiring can handle the load of an electric cooker. Also, there may not be enough power in the network. If there are frequent power outages in the village, it is better to choose a gas stove.
- 2. It takes several times longer to reheat food on an electric stove than on a gas one. The efficiency of electric stoves is about 50%. Those. the cost of their use is comparable to that of gas.
I think you already understood that at my dacha I replaced the gas stove with an electric one. So far, I am quite happy with this decision. I already forgot how problematic it is to fill a gas cylinder. We have occasional power outages, but I've learned to adjust. Matter of habit! Which stove do you use? Share in the comments.
