"Fitosporin" is a biological fungicide produced in various forms and volumes. Provides potato protection from negative environmental influences, saves from infection with pathogenic microflora, stimulates the development of the root system.
Potato processing
I use "Fitosporin" for processing potatoes only in the evening or choose a cloudy day. The bacteria contained in the preparation die from direct sunlight. The preparation of the solution depends on the chosen form of the drug, I spend it 1.5 hours before treatment.
Powder
I dissolve the powder in water at the rate of 5 g per 250 ml of water. I process tubers from any sprayer with the resulting solution. After they dry, turn over and spray on the other side.
Fitosporin powder is used to protect planting material from diseases and to preserve the crop.
Paste
For processing potatoes before planting, I use 3 tbsp. l. paste in 200 ml of water. It is necessary to use only settled water, since chlorine or fluorine contained in tap water destroys the bacteria contained in Fitosporin.
In most cases, the paste is used not only to reduce the risk of infections, but also to activate the development processes in the tubers.
Liquid
Ready factory solution "Fitosporin" is used in the same amount, regardless of the purpose of its use. Both for treating tubers before planting, and for spraying potatoes growing in the garden, use 10 drops of liquid per 200 ml of water.
Ensures the safety of the crop, completely eliminating putrefactive processes. It is recommended to apply repeatedly, spraying the plants shortly before harvesting.
Consumption of the drug and its compatibility
The consumption of the drug "Fitosporin" when spraying tubers before planting is 250 ml of solution per 10 kg of potatoes. Some gardeners process planting material with a dry powder without dissolving it in water. In this case, the consumption rate will be 30 g per 10 kg.
"Fitosporin" can be combined with most other agrochemical preparations, which include:
- complex fertilizers;
- growth stimulants;
- insecticides;
- fungicides.
But I advise you to avoid joint use with organic fertilizers so as not to oversaturate the culture with nutrients and not destroy the plantings. Also, "Fitosporin" categorically cannot be used with drugs that give an alkaline reaction in solutions.
Handling Safety
On each package of the drug, the manufacturer indicates that Fitosporin is a low-hazard substance for humans, animals and insects. The exception is bees. Potato processing must be carried out at a distance of 4 kilometers from apiaries and individual hives.
Despite the low danger of the drug, we must not forget about the basic precautions, especially for people prone to allergies and with hypersensitivity of the skin. I always prepare the solution and spray the planting material with rubber gloves and goggles. In case of breathing problems, the use of a respirator is recommended.
If "Fitosporin" gets on open areas of the skin, it must be washed off with running water. And if the solution is accidentally swallowed, it is important to induce vomiting and take sorbents.
Treatment of potato tubers with Fitosporin before planting provides the culture with protection from diseases, activates hidden development processes, and improves plant endurance. From my own experience I can say that after treatment with this preparation, potato yields in my area increased.
