  • A variety of very early ripening: from the moment of sowing seedlings, it takes only 2.5 months until the first fruits ripen.

Taste and use

  • Movir-74 has excellent taste qualities. The pulp is tender, without bitterness and additional flavors, so it is good for use in baby food.
  • In addition, it can be preserved, stewed and frozen without loss of taste.

cultivation

Movir-74 variety can be grown in two ways:

  • In more southern regions, where spring comes early and the warm period is longer, seeds can be sown directly into the ground.
  • In the middle lane and more northern regions, and also if you want to get the first heads of cabbage as early as possible, the cultivation of the variety is carried out in seedlings.

seedless way

  • Seeds are tested for germination by germinating several seeds from each batch in wet tissue.
  • Suitable seeds are soaked for 10-15 minutes in hot water, then doused with cold water for hardening and slightly dried.
  • The beds are dug up in advance and organic and nitrogen-phosphorus fertilizers are applied.
  • Landing is carried out in early May, when the ground thaws well. Night frosts should stop by this time.
  • In prepared and pre-watered beds, grooves are made no more than 2 cm deep, seeds are placed in them and sprinkled with earth.
  • Top covered with polyethylene to create a greenhouse effect.
  • When sprouts appear, the polyethylene is removed, the sprouts are thinned out, leaving the strongest ones.

seedling method

  • Seeds are culled by immersion in saline, and then disinfected in potassium permanganate.
  • For seedlings, separate peat or plastic containers are chosen, having made drainage holes in them or pouring a layer of expanded clay.
  • The containers are filled with a nutrient substrate, pre-moistened well and planted 2 seeds each.
  • Cover with foil and put in a warm, bright place.
  • When sprouts appear, the film is removed and a weak sprout is removed if both have sprouted.
  • Planted in open ground when the earth warms up to 18-20 ° C.
  • Seedlings should be at least 15-20 cm tall and have a well-developed root system.
  • Before planting for 7-10 days, we begin to harden the seedlings.

Further care

Maintenance is pretty simple:

  • Water moderately once every 3-5 days in the morning or after sunset.
  • The next day after watering, be sure to loosen the top layer and remove weeds.
  • After transplantation and during the fruiting period, we apply organic and mineral fertilizers.
