Spray the apple tree before the start of sap flow at a positive air temperature. In the middle regions, ferrous sulfate is treated at the end of March, in the southern regions - at the beginning of spring.
First, pay attention to the condition of the cortex. Get rid of damage by cleaning healthy places and lubricating wounds with garden pitch.

The concentration of the solution depends on the purpose of the treatment.
During the spring spraying period, use a 1% dosage for preventive purposes. To do this, dilute 100 g of powder in a standard bucket of water. This concentration is enough to prevent the development of fungal infections and prevent the invasion of pests.

Apple trees suffer from lichens and mosses. They form on the trunk and do not allow the trees to develop well. From pests, spray the affected branches with the following composition: 300-500 g of the substance / 10 liters of liquid.
To enhance the action of the drug, add a solution of wood ash (200 g / 3 l of boiling water).
From parasites
To get rid of insects and their larvae, use a 5% liquid (500 g / 10 l). Spray the apple tree with the resulting solution before the sap flow begins.
From chlorosis
This disease appears from a lack of iron. Pour a weakly concentrated solution in the near-stem circle (dissolve 50 g of iron sulfate in a bucket of water). Repeat the treatment 2-3 times every five days.
Top dressing of an apple tree
Due to iron deficiency, the following external signs may appear:
- a yellowish tint forms on the leaves;
- the leaves become dark;
- apple trees do not develop well.
To remedy the situation, it is necessary to pour a 0.5% solution in the near-stem circle. Pour the liquid at a short distance from the trunk so that it gets on the roots.
Compatibility with other tools
Some drugs cannot be used when used together with iron sulphate. These funds include:
- "Karbofos";
- substances that are diluted in an alkaline environment.
Before formulating a mixture, test by mixing the ingredients together to make sure there are no chemical reactions.
Iron vitriol can be used to spray fruit trees in the spring as a preventive measure. Autumn procedures are also carried out with the same goals. To get the expected effect, you need to use the dosages recommended by the manufacturer.
