The great white shark, also known as the man-eating shark, is found in the open waters of all the oceans of the Earth with the exception of the Arctic. The formidable predator fish instills fear not only in marine life, but also in people living in coastal regions or visiting them for tourism purposes. However, is there anyone who is afraid of a shark? In fact, the great white shark has at least three enemies in the ocean.
1. Saltwater crocodile
This will sound strange to many people, but the great white shark's natural enemy is the saltwater crocodile. Saltwater or combed crocodile lives off the coast of Indochina and on the northern coast of Australia. An adult can grow up to 6 meters in length. In comparison, the average adult white shark only grows to 4.8 meters in length. Despite the fact that the shark is much faster than the crocodile, its body is not so well protected, and the bite force is almost 1.5 times weaker.
Sharks and crocodiles collide with each other infrequently. However, when this happens somewhere in shallow water, the reptile does not deny itself the pleasure of trying to grab and finish off a dangerous fish for food. Because in shallow water, the main thunderstorm is him.
2. killer whale
The killer whale is not only a beautiful animal, but also a very dangerous one. In sea waters, this is the most dangerous mammal. Killer whales, including sharks, do not shy away from attacking. Moreover, an adult whale has a huge advantage over predatory fish. You should start with the fact that killer whales are much smarter than sharks. Equally important, these marine mammals grow quite large. The body length of the average killer whale is 9-10 meters. This is almost twice the size of any predatory shark. At the same time, killer whales are fast and armed with sharp teeth. But the most important thing is that very often black and white enemies of cannibals hunt in packs, resembling some kind of wolves in this respect.
3. Sperm whale
Another marine mammal that the great white shark is afraid of is just because the sperm whale is much larger than it. Males of these whales can reach a length of 20 meters and weigh 50 tons. Slightly smaller and females, they grow up to 15 meters. Of course, unlike some killer whales, sperm whales do not attack sharks for food. They eat much less prey: small fish and cuttlefish. However, sperm whales often attack sea cannibals for reasons of protecting offspring. The shark is simply not capable of doing at least something bad to an adult sperm whale.
