5 types of weapons that most often failed in battle

Mankind has been making weapons throughout its history. However, it is not always good and somehow effective. The 20th century alone gave us dozens and hundreds of worthless instruments of war and destruction. Here are some of the brightest and most characteristic representatives of this family.

1. 94 Shiki Kenju

Perhaps it was this Japanese pistol that could authoritatively take the palm in the field of the most problematic and unreliable firearms of the 20th century. Kijiro Nambu tried to create a compact weapon for concealed carry. However, at some point, on his own head, he agreed to work for the Japanese military department. The army team constantly urged the designer, in the end it turned out what happened. It got to the point that the officers refused to carry 94 Shiki Kenju in a holster.

2. Volkssturmgewehr VG-45

At the end of the Second World War, such an automatic carbine for infantry was made in Germany. Based on the name, it was positioned as a "militia rifle". It was supposed to do such, including in handicraft workshops, in every sense on the knee. The characteristics of this weapon turned out to be so low that it could not prove itself even at the most desperate moment for the Third Reich - in the Battle of Berlin.

3. Tula Tokarev

The first Soviet self-loading pistol became a legend due to its mass character and World War II. What is there, created in the early 1930s, this pistol went through the entire history of the Soviet Union and was widely used until the 1990s. However, all this does not negate the fact that the first pancake was still lumpy: low resource, frequent jamming of the cartridge case, skewed cartridges, detachment of the bottom of the cartridge case, spontaneous shots. All this forced, at the first opportunity, to take up the development of a new pistol.

There is a modern model of the "Liberator", made using modern means on a 3D plastic printer. However, in this case we are talking about single-shot pocket pistols produced in the USA for the French underground during the Second World War. It was assumed that The Liberator would be dropped from aircraft, after which, with their help, partisans and underground workers would be able to kill the Nazis and seize normal weapons. As practice has shown, it is problematic to shoot even a blind and lame cat from the Liberator.

It will be difficult to find something worse among small arms than the Shosha light machine gun, made in France at the beginning of the last century. Disgusting design, frequent jamming, heavy weight, too low rate of fire - this is not a complete list of the problems of this weapon. The highlight on the cake of a known substance can be considered frankly problematic stores, which, due to their structures were easily clogged with dust, dirt and snow, which made it impossible for the shooter to use them in a straight line appointment.

In continuation of the topic, read about why the legendary soviet pistol TT was removed from service.
