Seed material from specialized stores is already processed and ready for planting. Own seeds need disinfection. It is recommended to sow plants in peat containers, the size of which is up to 12 cm.
Soil and sowing seeds
The plant needs loose soil. To prepare the substrate use:
- 3 parts of garden soil,
- 2 parts lowland peat,
- 2 parts biohumus,
- 1 part river sand
- 1 part vermiculite or perlite
Everything is mixed and hydrated. The substrate must be frozen.
Sowing seeds and caring for seedlings
The procedure is carried out at the end of February. Glasses must be filled with earth. Sowing seeds is carried out to a depth of 1.5 m. The containers can be placed in one large box. Sowing ends with a cover film. The earth then needs to be sprayed regularly. For germination, the temperature should be from +25 degrees.
Seedlings appear in two weeks. Watering is carried out 1 time in five days. The soil needs to be moistened around the seedlings. Water should be separated and warm.

Every ten days you need to use "Kristalin". The solution is made from 10 liters of water and 15 g of the substance. The first top dressing is carried out 10 days after germination.
Light day should be 12 hours. It is better to use phytolamps.
Planting in open beds
Hardening should be done 10 days before planting. Leave the seedlings on the balcony for 2 hours a day, and then more. The time should eventually increase to 24 hours. Bushes that are ready for planting have from six leaves. In height, finished seedlings should be at least 20 cm.
A month before planting, the soil must be dug up and 6 kg of humus applied per square meter.
It is not recommended to plant a plant after peppers, tomatoes, potatoes and tobacco.
Care
Tall bushes should be formed into one or two stems. Be sure to remove the lower leaves. When fruiting, heavy fruits often break the stems. In order to form many ovaries, support is needed.
Water the plant once every 4-5 days. Watering is carried out under the root. The soil should be loosened no deeper than 12 cm. When fruiting, it is important to weed frequently.
Fertilization
The first feeding of eggplants is carried out three weeks after planting. Further top dressing is done every 2.5 weeks. The soil can be fertilized up to five times per season. Use fertilizer "Kemira-Lux". It is necessary to add 30 g of the drug to 10 liters of water. Before flowering, a similar fertilizer, but with boric acid. When flowering, mullein infusion is added. Take it 1 liter and dilute in 10 liters of water. When fruiting, it is recommended to add 40 g of superphosphate mixed in 10 liters of water.
