Homemade mandarin is a very beautiful tree that can complement any interior. But this plant is very whimsical. For normal development, he needs to create the right conditions. Content errors
The main mistakes in keeping a homemade tangerine:
- Wrong temperature. Mandarin grows in a warm climate, so when growing it at home, it is necessary to ensure the temperature is at least +20 degrees.
- Humidity. If the air in the apartment is too dry, the tangerine will shed its leaves. This can happen during the summer heat or during the heating season. You can increase the humidity with a humidifier, an aquarium, or an indoor fountain.
- Illumination. Lack of light is one of the most common causes of leaf fall. In this case, you need to rearrange the mandarin to the balcony or loggia. But from direct sunlight, the plant must be protected by shading it. Phytolamps can also be used.
- drafts. For citrus fruits, drafts are especially dangerous. Drafts often cause yellowing and falling of the crown. A tangerine tree cannot be placed next to an open window or installed in winter on a window in which there are large gaps.
- Wrong wintering. In winter, the mandarin should be at rest. To do this, he needs to provide a temperature within + 8... + 10 degrees. If the tree does not enter a dormant state, it will begin to deplete and dry out.
- Overmoistening of the soil. If water stagnates in the ground, fungi and bacteria will begin to multiply. The root system will rot. This is what causes the leaves to fall.
- No transfers. If the root system has already filled the entire volume of the pot, a transplant is required. Usually young plants are transplanted once a year, adults - once every 3 years. The substrate must be replaced. A mixture of turf, leafy soil and sand in proportions of 2: 1: 1 is well suited for growing mandarin.
- Lack of nutrients. With a lack of nitrogen, the tangerine tree blooms, but the ovaries do not bear fruit. If a plant lacks phosphorus, it slows down growth. With a lack of potassium, foliage is damaged.
- Acidic soil. Mandarin requires neutral or slightly acidic soil. If the soil is acidic, the plant begins to have problems with branches and leaves.
How to save a tangerine tree?
If the problem is constant waterlogging of the soil, watering should be temporarily stopped. When the earth dries out, the tree should be dug up and the root system inspected for damage. The rotted places are cut off. After that, the mandarin is transplanted into a new disinfected soil. At first, watering is recommended through the pan.

A healthy tangerine tree should not fall leaves. But the fall of a few leaves should not be a reason for panic. It is necessary to start taking measures if the plant quickly “goes bald”. This indicates a violation of the conditions of detention.
