Navigator has launched a series of home surveillance cameras powered by the popular Tuya smart home cloud platform.
I studied the first three models, I will tell you what they can do and how they differ from cameras on other platforms.
The cameras connect to the Internet via Wi-Fi, allow you to view the image and listen to the sound from anywhere in the world, as well as send your voice messages to the cameras. It is possible to record motion video on a memory card or continuously and remotely view recordings. There is a traffic notification system, work schedule. The cameras support night mode with IR illumination.
Three cameras are currently on sale:
NSH-CAM-02-IP20-WiFi (2,522 rubles) - a home camera on a stand.
NSH-CAM-01-IP20-WiFi (3 554 rubles) - home PTZ camera.
NSH-CAM-03-IP65-WiFi (5 564 rubles) - an outdoor camera in a plastic case.
All cameras come with a 5V 1A power adapter, mounting kit, instructions.
To get started, the camera needs to be added to the app on your smartphone. You can use both the proprietary Navigator SmartHome application, as well as Tuya, Smart Life applications or smart home applications from other Russian manufacturers. The application generates a QR code that needs to be shown to the camera.
If you install a MicroSD memory card in the camera (cards up to 128 GB are supported), you will be able to automatically record video (by motion or continuously).
The slot for a memory card at the first camera is at the end of the case.
The second at the bottom of the swivel ball.
At street under a tight cover.
When turned on, the first and second cameras sequentially pronounce voice notifications: "Camera start", "Conneting network", "Camera online". The street plays a piece of music.
In the application, the cameras are displayed along with other smart devices. There is a mode of simultaneous display of pictures from 4, 9 and 16 cameras. As with other smart devices, you can create a separate shortcut for each camera on the Android home screen, when launched, the application will immediately open the control screen of this camera and start displaying live video from her. On this screen, you can save frames, record video from the camera to your smartphone, view recordings from the camera's memory card, and send voice messages to the camera. You can control the position of the PTZ camera by moving your finger across the video screen.
Of course, there is a full screen mode.
In the settings, you can turn off the LED on the camera, flip the picture (when the camera is suspended upside down), control the IR illumination, and set up motion detection.
With a memory card inserted in the camera, you can select the recording mode. In addition, there is a traffic notification system that works without a map.
When motion is detected, the application can send push notifications, in addition, a notification log is kept with frames saved to the smartphone. It is often convenient to turn off push notifications but leave this feed. It is important that these frames are saved to the smartphone, so even if the camera with a memory card is stolen, these photos will remain.
Somewhat unexpectedly, everything related to notifications (including the photo notification feed) in application is not in the "Home" section, where the cameras are visible, but in the "Message Center" section of the "Profile".
Unlike cameras on other platforms, cameras on the Tuya platform have several advantages:
- if you already use smart lamps and sockets, you don't need a separate camera app;
- notification feed with photos taken at the time of motion detection, working even without a memory card in the camera;
- the ability to start video from the camera with one click on the main screen of the smartphone.
In August, six more Navigator cameras will appear on all marketplaces: two outdoor rechargeable cameras (one of them is completely autonomous with a solar panel), battery microcamera, two outdoor rotary and outdoor in a metal case (the last three with the possibility of a wired connection to a local networks).
Navigator cameras are a simple, convenient and inexpensive solution for home video surveillance. Of course, the quality of their picture is lower than that of professional surveillance cameras, but in general the situation can be assessed, and at a distance of up to three meters people's faces are clearly distinguishable. You can buy these cameras at Ozone, Wildberries, Yandex Market.
Peace for everyone!
