The robot mower automatically mows the grass and allows you to always maintain the same height.
I bought and studied the cheapest robot sold in Russia.

The cheapest robot lawn mower Worx LandXcape 600 LX790

The navigation of the robot is done using a boundary wire, which is laid along the ground and defines the area where the robot moves. With the help of loops of the same wire, you can limit the places where the robot cannot enter.

The length of the wire can reach 400 meters, its beginning and end are connected to the charging base, which the robot can find automatically.

The robot moves randomly - when it reaches the wire, it changes direction, turning at an arbitrary angle. In this case, the robot freely passes over two wires going back and forth and stacked together (this allows you to place restrictive "islands" inside the mowing area).

In the event of a collision with a heavy object, the robot also changes direction.

LandXcape LX790 is now the cheapest robot mower officially sold in Russia. Everywhere it costs from 40,000 rubles, in some OBI stores they still remain at the "old" price of 33,990 rubles. There is a version of the LX790i with Wi-Fi and control from the application, but it is not sold in Russia.

Although I wrote "Worx" in the title, nowhere on the robot itself and in the instructions is the name of this company mentioned, however LandXcape is a separate brand of Worx as evidenced by the extended warranty registration on the Worx website and warranty Worx ticket.

Includes charging base with a long 10-meter wire, power supply 20 V 1.5 A, 150 meters boundary wire, 210 pegs to secure it, two wire connectors, two sets of spares knives, instructions.

By the way, there is trouble with instructions on the Internet - they often offer to download a PDF, in which there is only a table of technical parameters. The robot has two important instructions - an instruction manual and an installation manual.

Everywhere they write that special measuring rulers are included in the kit, in fact, they simply break out of the box lid (these are cardboard boxes, 26 cm long).

This is how the pegs, wire (it is dark green) and connectors look like.

Rear wheels 20.5 cm. The ground clearance is 5 cm, front and rear there are ribs that lower it to 4.5 cm.
Charging contacts are located on the side, so the robot parks to the base on the right side.

Front one roller 7.5 cm.

This is what the robot looks like from below. On the left is the battery cover, in the center is a wheel with knives. Everywhere they write that the mowing width is 16 cm, but this is a mistake. In fact, the mowing width of this robot is 18 cm (this is even written on the nameplate with the name of the model).

It’s a big mystery to me why the wheel with knives wasn’t made bigger - the place allows you to place knives up to 25 cm, and 21 cm could be made without changing the design at all, simply by increasing the length knives.

Each of the knives rotates freely, centrifugal force causes them to diverge to the sides. The knives are sharpened on both sides - the wheel spins in any direction each time.

The battery LA0001 36 Wh "20 V 2 Ah" is assembled from five 18650 cells.

The battery compartment allows you to place a battery three times the capacity (15 cells).

The LX790 is made as simple as possible: it has only four buttons, a digital display and a big red STOP button. Minimum settings.

When you turn it on, you need to enter a pin code (default is 0000, so you just need to press OK 4 times).

When you press Start and OK, the robot starts to mow and does this until the battery runs out, then returns to the base and does not start itself anymore (more precisely, it starts if, according to the program, at that time it is supposed to mow).

When you press Home and OK, the robot goes to the base, while it does not turn off the knives and mows along the wire.

There are only four settings:

- pin code (if there is no danger of the robot stealing, it is better to leave 0000, since entering each digit by enumeration is not very convenient);

- date and time (the robot has a separate internal battery, so the time does not go astray even if you remove battery, the first setting will only need to adjust the time, since the date and Chinese time installed at the factory)

- mowing area from 50 to 600 square meters (it affects how many days a week (2, 3 or 5) the robot will automatically mow and how long it will do it on each of the days (from 2 to 5 hours);

- start time of automatic mowing.

On a single charge, the robot mows for about 2 hours, charging for about 1 hour. Accordingly, depending on the setting of the mowing area, he goes out to mow once or twice a day.

Depending on the set mowing area, the robot mows on Tuesday and Friday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, or five days from Monday to Friday. By default, the robot starts mowing at 9 am.

There are two ways to make the robot mow longer in one day: manually start it every three hours, or set the maximum area (6 acres) and after the first 5 hours of operation and return to charging, change its time back to 8 morning.

The robot has a rain sensor, when wet, the robot postpones mowing for several hours.

A sensor in the axle of the front wheel-roller instantly stops the robot if it is lifted.

You can always stop the robot with the big red STOP button.

The mowing height is regulated by a mechanical round handle (at the same time, the position of the wheels and the clearance do not change - only the disc with knives rises and falls).

The robot has a fairly good cross-country ability - it confidently rides on an uneven area with pits and bumps. When a robot gets stuck, the first thing it does is try to roll back and change direction. The algorithm of actions when stuck is quite good - if the robot "gets stuck" (stuck - drove off - stuck again), it changes direction and almost always gets out of the "trap".

The robot moves and mows quite quietly - its sound does not interfere or irritate.

It takes about 15 hours of continuous work for the robot to completely mow a plot of 6 acres (the time strongly depends on the shape of the plot and the number of protective "islands" that cannot be entered). But such a big long time shouldn't be scary - the idea of the robot is that it mows a little bit regularly and does not let the grass grow, keeping its height constant. By the way, let me remind you that before the first use of any robot, the area must be completely mowed with a conventional mower.

Although the LandXcape LX790 is the cheapest, it mows in the same way as much more expensive robots. The fee for cheapness in this case is the lack of fine-tuning and the lack of Wi-Fi and control from the application.

Peace for everyone!
