Cotton towels are an essential part of any kitchen. Housewives spend a lot of time and money to choose the perfect towel in size, composition and design. Linen is considered the most common material for towels, followed by cotton. For natural fabrics, any of the washing methods is suitable. Microfiber and synthetics are best not used in the kitchen.

Kitchen towels are recommended to be changed every day, as soon as it becomes wet. If you soak the textiles immediately, the dirt will not have time to dry. Therefore, it will be easier to put the towel in order.
How to wash kitchen towels
Often a regular wash cannot deal with stains on a towel. There are several nuances here: a) It is necessary to wash on a suitable mode; b) If it is not possible to wash the towel immediately, then it must be soaked! How to get rid of old stains?
1. To do this, you will need the laundry detergent you normally use and table salt. This universal method will help to “refresh” not only towels, but also any clothes. Usually use an old ten-liter bucket or basin. Pour warm water into it, to which 10 tablespoons of salt have already been added. Let the towels lie in this solution for several hours (preferably at least 5). During this time, some of the stains will have time to disappear, and the most difficult ones will soften, and it will be easier to wash them off. After the procedure, the towels must be washed in the washing machine on a normal cycle.
If the stains on the towel are fresh (coffee, fat, juice of vegetables or fruits), then ordinary salt will cope with them. Pour it on the stain and leave for a while. And soon you will see that the salt has absorbed the oil. Then, pour a little dish detergent on this stain and leave for half an hour. And then just wash it. There will be no trace left of the stain.
2. Another way to "resuscitate" kitchen towels turned out to be also budgetary and effective. It will appeal to young housewives who do not want to bother with boiling, but want to have snow-white towels in the kitchen. Believe me, even the oldest and greasy towels will gain new life after several such procedures.
You will need:
1. Basin or bucket.
2. 1 tablespoon of any laundry detergent
3. 3 tablespoons of inexpensive bleach powder.
4. 2 tablespoons of VEGETABLE oil.
5. 5 liters of boiling water.
If instead of a basin you use an enameled bucket, then you can boil water immediately in it. As soon as the water boils, add vegetable oil there, stirring constantly. Next send the washing powder with bleach. Do not stop stirring the resulting mass. As soon as the mass becomes homogeneous, carefully lower the towels into the container.
ATTENTION! Towels must be dry!
Cover the pot with a lid and turn off the heat! Leave the towels in the bucket under the lid until completely cool.
Ready! It is best to soak towels in this way late in the evening: the water will cool overnight, and you will only have to rinse the towels in the morning. You can do this manually or in the washing machine on the "Rinse" mode.
The kitchen is a treasure trove of tastes and smells. Alas, nothing flattering can be said about kitchen towels. If they are used for more than one day (as we wrote earlier), they will acquire a specific unpleasant odor. If this has already happened, then here is how you can solve this problem.
The main fighter with the musty smell of towels is vinegar. If you decide to wash textiles by hand, then fill the towel with 5-9 percent vinegar for 5-15 minutes (you can make a solution by diluting the vinegar with water 1: 1). After 15 minutes, wash the product in clean water and immediately hang to dry.

If you are too lazy to do laundry, then this is the time to use the technique. Load dirty towels into the washing machine, pour washing powder and half a glass of vinegar (9%) into separate cells. If there are a lot of towels, then you may need a whole glass. Select the maximum temperature setting with the maximum duration. As a rule, this is the "Boiling" or "Heavily polluted" mode.
As you can see, there is not a single expensive remedy on our list. Any component is in every home. All you need is desire and some free time. If you choose waffle towels when choosing kitchen towels, then remember that these towels should NEVER be washed with fabric softener! It leaves a “film” on the fabric, due to which the textile does not absorb water well and acquires an unpleasant odor.
