No wonder they say: "My home is my castle." It should be cozy here so that you want to return after work and spend the weekend within these walls. However, it is not always possible to achieve a feeling of comfort. Novate.ru tells what things can spoil the atmosphere in the apartment and cause negative emotions.
1. Wash in the corner
When the apartment has a small kitchen, the idea of locating the sink in the corner comes by itself. This saves space and allows you to place everything you need in the room. However, there is a caveat - it is inconvenient to wash dishes in such a sink, and in fact it is this procedure that you have to deal with several times a day. So it turns out that already a few months after the repair, the hostess begins to remember the corner sink with a not evil quiet word. In addition, this arrangement greatly complicates the cleaning of the countertop. Yes, and modern designers are advised to install the sink closer to the window so that the sun's rays illuminate the area well and do not have to turn on the chandelier every time.
2. Out-of-season shoes in the hallway
The weather in our country is unstable. Today the thermometer can show +20 degrees, and tomorrow the temperature will drop to +5 degrees. It is not surprising that autumn boots, sneakers, shoes and rubber boots have been standing in the hallway next door for several months. However, such an arrangement of shoes definitely does not add order and comfort. Especially if she stands right on the floor, along the wall.
To avoid chaos in the hallway, out-of-season shoes that will definitely not be useful to you in the near future need to be cleaned, repair (if necessary), put crumpled paper inside to keep its shape and put it in the pantry or in a closet for bottom shelf.
As for the rest of the shoes, it should be placed so that it does not interfere with anyone and at the same time is at hand. There are several options for solving the problem. The easiest is to buy a shoe rack. An inexpensive copy can be found in the mass market or on the classifieds site on the Internet. The second option is to get a few plastic transparent containers and put the shoes in a closet in the hallway. The third is to put a bench in the hallway with one or two shelves below. So you kill two birds with one stone - get a place to sit so that it is convenient to put on shoes, and also provide a storage system for shoes and sneakers that you wear every day. And finally, you can show your creative abilities - paste over the boxes in which the shoes were sold with craft paper, carefully sign them and stack them in a corridor, occupying an empty corner.
3. Mold in the cupboard
Surely you have encountered this problem at least once. Mold is due to dampness, so your main task is to keep the closet dry and clean. If you have already found mold, use special household chemicals to eliminate it. And for prevention, be sure to treat the walls and shelves of the cabinet with vinegar and place an open jar of soda or salt so that it absorbs excess moisture.
If you have a dish drying tray next to the sink, it should also be treated with vinegar - this will prevent the growth of fungus and yellowing of the plastic. Another option is to line the tray with a paper towel that will need to be changed every day, or a special mat that absorbs moisture. And don't forget that putting wet dishes in the cupboard is a bad idea. Either dry it immediately with a soft microfiber towel, or leave it to dry on a tray and then put it on a shelf. Some housewives prefer to immediately order a cabinet without a bottom and hang it over the sink. Then the water from the plates placed on the dryer in the cabinet drips directly into the sink.
4. Temporary furniture
We all know the phrase that there is nothing more permanent than temporary. Unfortunately, that's just how life works. First, we try to save money and buy a sofa for “a couple of months”, promising ourselves that as soon as we get a good salary, we will immediately buy a new one, and then sleep on it for the next few years.
To avoid such consequences, refuse to buy low-quality furniture. It’s better to live without a closet for three or four months, putting things on a chair, and then buying a really high-quality copy than to get a second-hand option that will crumble before your eyes. Remember that the miser pays twice, and if you are not ready to see "temporary" furniture in the coming years, do not spend money on it - such a decision will not help you save money.
5. Dryer for clothes and linen
Alas, the clothes dryer standing in the center of the living room does not paint the room at all. Especially if you wash your clothes almost every day, and it is always filled with things. Such a piece of furniture deprives the space of comfort and visually overloads it, creating visual noise. But what if there is nowhere else to hang wet laundry and nowhere else to put the dryer? Smart technology or competent planning of your time will come to the rescue.
If your apartment has a special laundry room, buy a dryer in pair with the washing machine. To make them take up less space in the room, get a narrow and tall cabinet in which you can place household appliances in a column.
Still not enough free space? Then the best solution would be multifunctional devices - washer-dryers, which consultants often recommend installing in tiny bathrooms. Such devices are compact, modern and easily perform all the tasks assigned to them.
None of the options work? Then replace the floor dryer with a ceiling or wall dryer. Position it on your balcony or above your bathtub, and when you don't need the dryer, simply fold it away so it's out of sight. And the last idea is to wash your clothes in the morning and hang them up before you leave for work. When you get home, your clothes are already dry and you just have to fold them and put the dryer in the pantry or slide it behind the closet.
6. Books you didn't like
Admit it: many of you dreamed of a large home library that would become a real decoration of the apartment. However, this solution is not for everyone. For example, if you read very rarely or prefer literature in electronic format, then you obviously do not need a huge bookcase that occupies the entire wall in the living room. The same goes for publications that you did not like and that you are not going to re-read in the future. Keeping them just for the sake of quantity so that you can show off to guests is a failed idea. It's better to have fewer volumes, but the ones you really like. As for the rest of the books, take them to the library or give them to friends who are fans of this author. Do not acquire extra dust collectors - there are already enough of them in apartments.

7. Kitchen or dining room painted cool blue
The atmosphere can be spoiled not only by things, but also by the colors that you used in the apartment. For example, cool blue and blue colors suppress appetite, so using them to decorate a kitchen or dining room is a bad idea. In this case, it is unlikely that you will experience at least some pleasure from eating and spending time in the room. If you want to lose weight, give preference to blue or turquoise plates - if necessary, they can be easily replaced. But repainting the walls will already be problematic, and the costs will increase several times.
8. Things wrapped with tape
Sometimes with things that have served faithfully for a long time, you don’t want to say goodbye at all. To keep them functional, we wrap items with duct tape in the hope that they will be able to do their job. And often we manage to achieve our goal, but after the “repair” the thing immediately loses its beautiful appearance. Scotch tape looks sloppy and cheap, and if such a thing is in plain sight, the interior suffers.
