When a motorist buys a car in the secondary market, he is extremely rarely interested in the identity of the previous owner. The main thing is that the owner treats the car well, and everything else does not matter. But what if your new-old car was owned by Adolf Hitler? This is, of course, a joke. The Fuhrer drove one car, and it is unlikely that it will ever be on the secondary market in your city. But what kind of car was it?
Despite all his "cannibalism", the leader of the Third Reich was not without some human weaknesses, in addition to the 30-year-old native of Bavaria, Eva Braun. One of these weaknesses, as is often the case with men, were cars. The main car of Adolf Hitler was a luxurious executive class convertible Mercedes-Benz 770K Grosser Offener Tourenwagen. Used this not only the Fuhrer. The same cabriolet model was used for trips by Hermann Goering, Reich President Paul von Hindenburg, Emperor of Japan Hirohito, the last Emperor of Germany Wilhelm II and Pope Eugenio Pacelli and many other major officials of that era. What is there, the Mercedes-Benz 770K is one of the most famous cars of an entire era.
Unofficially, the Mercedes-Benz 770K was also called "Großer Mercedes", which translates from German as "Big Mercedes". The car was developed in the late 1920s in the face of fierce competition between Mercedes-Benz and Maybach Zeppelin. The beginning of the development of the convertible was associated with the final obsolescence of the Mercedes-Benz 630 and the appearance on the market of the Maybach 12 with a fundamentally new engine at that time. The creation of a new car took two years, after which the production was launched in Stuttgart-Untertürkheim. The 770K was first shown at the Paris Motor Show. From the very beginning, the car was positioned as a car for large officials.

The luxurious Mercedes-Benz 770K has gone through two generations. The first W07 went on the market in 1930. The second generation of the W150 convertible was developed in 1936. Throughout its history, the car and its design has changed several times. In particular, the shape and curves of the body changed. Produced cars naturally piece. From 1930 to 1938, Mercedes-Benz produced only 119 770K convertibles of both generations. Literally piece cars of this model have survived to this day. Most of the cars were damaged during the Second World War. Individual 770K convertibles can be seen in museums in Canada, the United States, Germany and Spain.
As for the technical characteristics, the "Big Mercedes" was a 5-seater 4-door car. The car could be either in a convertible body - a phaeton, or in a limousine body. The wheel formula of all cars is 4x2. The transmission was mechanical. First with three steps. Then with five. W07 dimensions were 5600x1840x1830 mm with a wheelbase of 3750 mm. W150 dimensions - 6000x2100x1900 mm with a wheelbase of 3880 mm. Cars weighed 2.7 and 3.4 tons, respectively. They were driven by a 7.7-liter inline 9-cylinder l8 engine with 230 hp.
